Rothenberger 35668 Superfire 2 Torch Set c/w Propane Cylinder

Lights first time, good heat control, stable flame, does not flair like some other torches.

My husband treated me to one of these for lighting the woodburner. Lucky me! Its perfect and no more trying to source newspapers just a pile of sticks and away we go. WOuld recommend. Hes a plumber and wouldnt buy any other make than this as hes used one of his own for many years. Good quality so worth paying a little extra to know you will have it for many years service.

This came packaged in a homemade style. Don’t let looks deceive you though. On the propane bottle this was a dream. The low setting just gave me perfect copper joints, no overheating I was able to produce strong connections. Re-located pipes on three rads with 24 joints no leaks and neat solders. On higher setting it was able to release old joints from 20 years ago with ease. No fluctuation in heat, no cutting out - wish I’d gone for this before the three diy superstore cheaper alternatives which I now just use to light my bar-b! I would highly recommend this and to watch some on- line reviews and instructional vids before using to achieve professional results with ease. Very pleased so far.

Torch arrived when they said it would. A solid peace of kit, can ignite and keep finger on button for a quick job or can ignite and lock the flame on. Nice working flame, more expensive than other makes but worth the money if going to use it.

I've only used it twice so far and to be honest I'm impressed. It's my first "brand named" blow torch. The torch fires instantly, the flame is great. It turned a piece of mild steel 45x10x4mm cherry within 2 minutes! The map gas seems to burn alot hotter than my old propane burner. I've read reports on here that the igniter fails and it eats gas but for now, all is well. I've since found the kit cheaper elsewhere by a tenner but hey ho.

I have always used rothenberger , including pipe slices and pipe benders , I even own rothenberger stilsons too, always been happy with the quality. And the price point to include a gas bottle in with the package was the best deal out their at the time of ordering. Spare parts are readily available if needed , the flame can be adjusted and the nozzle has several safety features on it . I used both propane gas bottles and mapp gas bottles with the nozzle in the past really good flame picture on both gases

Arrived with no Rothenberger packaging just some tissue paper in a generic flimsy cardboard box. The instructions are in German, French, Italian and Spanish. No English which is really unhelpful. The blow torch thread is difficult to screw onto the gas canister. Once assembled the torch seems to function. I have a lot of Rothenberger plumbing kit and this is not up to their usual standard.
