The best dance record for the masses
Frisky-throated Kylie Minogue is a perfect example of the kind of voice that is spectacularly "right" for its music: all those boring questions of range and whatnot become irrelevant when one listens to how perfectly her chirps and trills and moans become the sexy-yet-classy house-pop she wields on "Fever". And what a sound it is! The tracks here match populist appeal with elite production, yielding a pop record with truly universal appeal-- the kids can eat it up like Spice Girls and the Samanthas of the world can use it as a soundtrack for their "mature" adventures. The firm, cushy basslines are as velvety as limosine upholstery, the beats as slick as a freshly-mouthed lollipop, and above this sensual swirl Kylie warbles like a warmly gushing fountain of crystaline delight. There's an occasional tinge of lovelorn melancholy in songs like "Fragile" and "Come into my world", but Kylie, like the best disco dollies, is a survivor, and her hints of worldly aloofness make her poptart persona all the more engaging. Her skill at channelling multiple decades is another bonus-- the title track sounds like a choice early Madonna effort given a new gleam. "Can't Get You Out of my Head" matches Daft Punk robochic with vampiric enthrallment, courtesy of Cathy "ah-ah-ah-ah-all night long" Dennis, and the even more spectacular "Love at first sight" (straight from Minogue's pen!) channels loveydovey dance-euphoria better than anything since Stephanie Mills' "Never Knew Love like this before". And the whole of the album sustains a level of worthiness with these awesome singles: "Fever" really is a Godiva grabbag of sensational, sensual, seductive dance tracks. Kudos for achieving such a great set of songs, and kudos for not bothering with balladry! Nobody has to dig their head in the sand to pretend this is a great record-- it really really is, and in the best of taste too. Kylie Minogue plain rocks, and "Fever" is one of the alltime essentials.

fever pitch
Love this album but its the same as the Aussie version, the only difference is the cover sleeve and I prefer this U.S sleeve.Again, this is a dance pop album and great for a party. This album is more breathy than your standard pop vocals, Kylie thinks she's a soul singer lol yeah I laughed at that as well lolNone the less it's a great pop album.

As if Fever weren't already good enough....
You get the original album, with 6 ADDITIONAL SONGS!!!! And we're not just talking about "cast-offs". We're talking additional B-sides that will get your booty shaking. "Good Like That", "Boy", "Baby", "Butterfly", "Tightrope", and "Whenever You Feel Like It". You all seriously need to purchase this Japanese import as it also includes the amazingly spectacular video for "Come Into My World" which will blow your mind.I bought mine used on here for half the amount. I suggest you do the same. I got mine within 3 days. And on a funny side note...the outside cover of this japanese limited edition lists the song Butterfly as "Butterfry". I swear...it does.I highly recommend getting this!

its got me
at a Fever pitch. Only needed one listen through with this cd to know that i'm all about and love me some Kylie. I have liked her as an artist for awhile now this is the first cd that i've bought of hers. But the way its going it wont be the last. It is seriously addictive and requires your full attention to get all thats happening on the cd. Its all about having fun, dancing and just doing you. Each track has a crazy beat and is something that should be played before going to a club or out on the town as it gets you in the mood for the night ahead. The only real slow track is "Burning Up" and even thats not really a slow song. But its the closest to anything like it on the cd.Obviously the track folks will know is "Can't Get You Outta My Head" as it received lots of airplay and video play here in the States. It's just a tiny sliver of what the rest of Fever is like and it needs to be bought or downloaded (Itunes).Enjoy i know i did and still am.

Can't get you out of my radio. 'Cause this album is great.
I think that this album was one of the best releases of 2002. The second single "Can't get you out of my head" had been heard around the world topping almost every charting list.Besides the success, the album is great great, it's a great dance album and Kylie's voice is perfect for this kind of music. There are 3 more hit singles of this album which are: "Come into my world", "In your eyes" and my personal favorite "Love at first sight".The album debuted in the Billboard 200 at #3 and has been certified Platinum in the U.s.I can't compare this album with another 'cause is unique.
