Nicely made, although I wish it was spiral-bound
I bought this same brand and size of date book last year, although my 2015 version had a black cover and was spiral-bound. This planner allows one to briefly note appointments and/or what they need to get done hour-by-hour, allowing space to do so from 7 am to 8 pm each day of the week. It is lightweight and relatively easy to hold, but it's not flimsy or cheap in feel. It's colorful, but not unprofessional or gaudy in appearance. There is space allotted within each week's section to note "Email/Paperwork/Errands" on the left-hand side. On the bottom, right-hand side there is a section for "Goals/Project I Will Work On This Week". These components serve as convenient documentation/reminder areas for the goal-oriented individual.Design Bonuses:- The pen loop on this model is a bit bigger this year. I could not put an extra-fine Sharpie through last year's pen loop; on this one, I can. (I'm a Sharpie addict, so this made me HAPPY!)- This year's version included an expanding pocket on the interior of the back cover. This is a good spot for postage stamps, address labels, tickets, receipts, etc.- I LOVE the turquoise cover they offered this year. This exterior is made of a nice material which feels smooth and high-end, better than last year's "model". It's also bound very nicely.Design Considerations and Limitations:- There is not much bleed-through of my Sharpie pen between pages, but I do wish the interior type of the planner itself was darker. (Although it could be my aging eyes that are the problem!)- If your schedule runs before 7 am or after 8 pm (and mine currently does), then the lack of a 24-hour listing could annoy you over time, and/or cause you to forget appointments.- I believe this is a good choice for those with a light-to-moderate schedule to track. If you have a really packed schedule that requires documenting lots of detailed info on a daily basis, I'd recommend choosing a larger or different planner. This really only allows for the briefest of hourly and daily notes. Small, neat handwriting is pretty important to have when using this size of planner, too.- This is not truly a limitation per se, but there's no sort of "inspirational" reminders or passages that go beyond the first few pages within the front of the planner.- It also doesn't have some features I've seen on more customized planner pages out there today, such as visual + written reminders to drink more water, exercise, prioritize on a few key items, and so on. This planner has more of a basic, do-it-yourself template, and that may not provide sufficient motivation for some to keep using it consistently. For people with ADHD or any sort of memory deficiency, they may also want to choose something with more detailed day-to-day lifestyle reminders.- If having a colorful interior within a planner is important for you, look elsewhere. This is designed in a more minimalist manner. Everyone is different, so consider what you need for fun, space, reminding, and motivation in a day planner.- It's not spiral-bound, so it won't easily stay open by itself, and it's harder to use one-handed. However, I just couldn't resist the turquoise cover (which didn't come in a spiral-bound version) this year. :)Note: A student will probably want to choose the version that runs on a school year, not a calendar year.

Binding last 2 weeks
Concerned with Quality control. Binding started falling apart after a few weeks of use. this is not the quality that you would expect from $21.99 planner.

Great diary/planner design, hard binding makes it difficult to use.
I love the layout of Action Day calendars, they are functional and allow for easy access to the top items on your lists or updating a specific list (calls etc.) This calendar works great with anyone using the GTD system. I only wish I could find this layout on better paper. The paper used is thick, scratchy, and absorbent. I find when writing with quicker inks in a fountain pen this paper to promote feathering, it is thick enough that I have not had major issues with bleed when using an extra fine nib. But anything other nib is hard to use, the feathering make it difficult to write within the provided space clearly, and bleed becomes an issue with thicker lines. Then the weight of the paper makes this a fairly thick diary. My final problem is the pen loop; it appears to be only elastic strap glued in, I am already having separation of the back cover and I am a week into 2017. (2 weeks into using this diary).Action Day makes a great diary/planner lay out but I would recommend the wire bound after a short period of time with this hard-bound version. the available colors are attractive, but a diary that does not lay flat is very difficult to use. Hopefully they will take their great design in the layout of the pages and couple it with a quality binding and paper in the future. The lay out of the Action Day planner is a clear 5 stars.the construction of this notebook is 2 stars at best.

Good organization in a nice, bright color!
I really like the organization of this planner. I don't use it exactly as it's set up- I prefer to put my goals/tasks for each day underneath the appointments column. I am a big fan of the Franklin Covy one or two page per day planners and had the Monarch size, but my job has changed and I don't need that much room to write anymore, aside from shelling out $45/year for the pages. This is perfect to take to meetings- I work in a lab and a casual planner is much more appropriate. Love the bright colors; most of what I own is black and this makes the planner stand out on a messy desk or bookshelf for a quick grab and go to get to that meeting on time!

Beautiful and functional--this one has it all!
I love this day planner. It has so many feature I love, including a section giving helpful information on developing positive attitudes toward achieving goals and taking action. It also includes month-at-a-glance pages and weekly layouts that offer space for tasks to execute, delegation and teamwork for the week, and goals and projects to work on for the week. I also love the note pages at the back and the pocket to hold business cards receipts, and other artifacts. This book helps to keep me, a pre-tenure English professor, organized with all the myriad things I am working on. I highly recommend it!

Best thing I have bought all year!
I have to admit that this is the fist paper planner I have used, so I was skeptical buying it (i usually like to use technology). I bought this planner in February, it is now the end of August. I am never more than 2 feet away from this book. I have no words for how amazing the layout of the planner is. It has a place for everything I need, my personal actions/tasks, delegated tasks, longer projects and my weekly calendar. I am able to keep both my work (manager) and personal life(2 kids) organized all in one place.I tell everyone about this little book (I think they are tired of hearing about it), and 2 of my co-workers have since purchased one and also rave about it. The cover is sturdy and stylish (I have the turquoise) and I get many compliments on the look. I am already planning on buying the 2018 version. I would give more stars if possible. I can't find anything negative about this product.PS-there is also a teacher edition which is set up for the school year and not the calendar year.

Leap of Faith
After reading the last reviewers comments on this product. I worried a lot about buying it and I honestly have to say I took a leap of faith. But What the hell were they talking about? This book is perfect for those who want to organise their monthly, weekly and daily schedules in their place of business or home. It has a great section on how to organise yourself and improve workload. A lined section for notes in the back. A monthly calendar for setting meetings and a weekly calendar to help organise your day for work!Apologies if the pictures came out weird but its the flash works only when it wants to. I would say the colour is less bright blue in the picture and more teal. The yellow band is a more orange-yellow.This a sturdy stylish product that can survive the whole of 2016 with fast delivery! I definitely will buy next year's diary from this company.

Really useful tool to have to organise day to day tasks
Really useful tool to have to organise day to day tasks, as well as long term goals. I got this as a christmas present and since using it, I find that it's much easier to manage aspects of my life through the use of this planner. It has useful sections to list tasks for each week, as well as an hourly planner for each day of the week. The first few pages include a few motivational points which are good for keeping on track. I struggled a lot with motivation before getting into the habit of using this journal. I would completely recommend this to anyone with a mildly busy lifestyle as a great way to get more organised!

Action Day Planner is truly the "World's Best Action Planner
Action Day Planner is truly the "World's Best Action Planner." It is my favorite planning book ever. I really like the year at a glance, the month at a glance and the week at a glance. The introduction to making and achieving goals in the front of the book is brilliant and workable. This is a great planner for the novice and for the more experienced organizer. I prefer a tangible paper planner over an electronic one. It is big enough to use for notes but small enough to fit into my bag.

A well laid out, well priced replacement for my bulky, costly Franklin Covey planner
I was looking for an action planner that provided much of the planning functionality of my old Franklin Covey Planner - but with out the bulk. The Action Day provides this in a clearly laid out weekly planning format which enables you to clearly set out the week ahead and plan the big tasks, keep note of delegated tasks and a things to do list. Everything I want and need. No more no less.I will be buying Action Day Planners each year in future.

Perfect for a busy working mum
So as a busy mum and freelancer I have been on a quest for the perfect planner for quite some time. I finally found Action Day and haven't looked back. I don't get on with the calendars that have columns for each person in the family because they are mahoosive and no one ever adds everything to them anyway. I use the daily columns to plan everything that I am actually doing in the week and block out my week for different things that I need to work on or meetings I need to attend. That way I can relax seeing how my week is planning out and then if childcare falls through I know what needs to move around. The additional to do list on the side is great for ad hoc as and when quick stuff I need to do. The separate projects bit I use for chasing up where we are on things with clients / partners and also helps me see what jobs are actually ongoing each month so I don't get the dreaded overwhelm. It's about as much as it's possible to cram on to two little pages of A5 and I need every single last bit of space. I wish they had an affiliate scheme as I recommend them all the time to other freelancer buddies. Only slight niggle is I wish there were more bright colour choices as I don't really like Turquoise and black and red are a bit meh! I loved last year's yellow.

Because I can see the time expended on different projects I can also start to estimate time better because it's all there in my
I started using an Action Day planner last year and was hooked. I've found that using coloured pens to show which action applies to which project. I find it also of use if questioned about what work I have on and priorities I can quickly refer to the planner and see how to move projects around or show how much time a project took. Because I can see the time expended on different projects I can also start to estimate time better because it's all there in my planner

Love it

Good but expensive
Very good planner. It is the second time I bought one of those as they are pretty and neat and I can not function without a good planner. I do find them to he a bit too pricey though. It is a good product but the price is definitely way over the top (and yet I paid it because it was hard for me to find anything that works as well for me)

Disappointing quality
Excellent layout, poor manufacturing quality. It's only January and I've already had to glue the cover back on. (To be honest, I am a bit heavy on diaries, but my moleskin from last year is still just about in one piece, and paperblanks usually get to at least August before starting to burst...)
