MORE USEFUL THAN YOU MIGHT IMAGINE
ABOUT FLIES / Bought this as had noticed insect populations have evolved to be more aggressive in the last several years or so. (They have learned to hang out by the front door and enter with me.) And if you see more than one errant fly in your house at a time, put it out. Flies don't need exposed food to lay their eggs. (They're willing to lay eggs on a hidden patch of floor and take their chances that the larvae will be able to make their way to food *somewhere.*)ABOUT ZAPPER: works great on flies. Gnats, too. Don't be alarmed if some flies are not instantly killed by a direct 'hit,' you can dispose of the wounded by hand. This model works much better than the 4,000 Sq. model from the same company. Most efficient way to use it is *at night* in a room away from you. Wake up in the morning and dispose of the bodies. (During the day there are too many light sources to distract them- computer screens, TV's, etc.) If I have work done in my home, where strangers are going in and out, I will get flies. Don't mind the zapping sound at all. It means it's working.CON: It would be nice if they had a way to attach the *small cleaning brush* that comes with it, to the unit. (You will need to use it, or an equivalent, as some flies stick to the inner wires. But easy enough to rig up something.)PRO: Everything. Portable, small enough to use most anywhere, can hang or use freestanding, bulb is long-lasting. And when you to use it, even occasionally, it quickly pays for itself.

Great bug zapper.
It has been a very HOT summer already here in California and the bugs are horrible. We have 3 dogs that go in and out all day. And we have 7 horses. So unfortunately, we have been finding fleas on them. I do keep them confined to 1 room in the house, but I know the fleas and bugs can spread easily. I purchased the Hoont Indoor Bug Zapper to put in their room to kill any fleas or bugs that might be in there. So far, I have not seen anything, but is had zapped moths and flies! Man, this thing really ZAPS when it gets them. I hear one loud pop, and that's all. Bye bye Felicia. I did not realize how big the Zapper unit was going to be. I expected something tiny. No, this is a full-sized unit. In the description, it states that it will cover a 6,000 sq. ft. area. It can be mounted to a wall, sat on the floor, or hung from the inclined chain. We have it hanging. There is a removable tray on the bottom that can be pulled off and emptied when it gets full of dead bugs. We plan on taking this Zapper with us when we go camping, to fight the mosquitoes. The 2 ultraviolet 10 watt lights attract all kinds of bugs, so we will be able to sit outside and not be bothered by the bugs. This unit is NOT weatherproof. Keep that in mind. I liked it so well, I ordered another one for our barn. I highly recommend this item. Definitely worth it.

Kills them Bugs Dead
I found this bug killer to be light in weight and yet sturdy. Gives off a nice blue light. I would love to give it a 5 star but it has only one draw back. The zap of the bugs being killed it very loud. I live in a 55 plus mobile home park and all the neighbors know each and every time a bug is killed. I am still keeping it and still using it but just wanted to let you know it is powerful therefor loud.

and have given me a great sense of calm and relief
During this Zika scare I can't afford to take any chances so I was forced to act quickly. I have brought various bug zappers, including a few by Stinger, but they were only so effective. The Hoont, on the other hand, quickly put my vector problem under control, and have given me a great sense of calm and relief. I live in P.R. so mosquitoes here are a way of life, but this doesn't mean we have to constantly cover our bodies with long sleeve T shirts, pants or have to constantly be spraying our bodies with Off or exposing our environment to dangerous chemicals. The Hoont actually works. You can actually here the little rat flying bastard exploding when they come in contact with the grill. It's a horrible death for sure, but better them than me! Already planning on buying a second unit.

Apparent good design but lousy execution
Delicate electronics shipped in a thin, display box squeezed into a thin plastic bag. Box was damaged. So was unit. It looks like it originally was a good design but not manufactured very well. Fit and finish is awful. The two ends arrived detached from the unit and there is no way to reattach them.Do not waste your money on this piece of junk.

Works but do not last long
I had it in my breakfast nook room which has a door to my patio. Bugs often get thru this door. I kept the room dark when I'm not home. So the only source of light is from this bug zapper. Some time it works even when the room is full of light too. It killed a bunch of bugs including mosquitoes and fruit flies. I was surprised that it killed those tiny fruit flies. Here is the problem: it died after 2 months of using during Summer 2019. It was inside, in controlled room temperature, and no rain or high humidity. Quality control of this is product really bad.

Zapped 'em!
Zapped 'em! The victims so far include fruit flies, house flies, moths, mosquitoes, and marmorated stink bugs. The tray at the bottom is easy to remove and clean. I usually just turn the zapper off, wait a few minutes, then vacuum it. Sometimes stuck-on bugs don't come off, though. The cons are that good bugs are attracted to it also,, and I have already rescued one small praying mantis that I found crawling up the outer screen and placed outside to live it's life away from the zapper's zap. I also wonder what will happen when the lady-bugs come out in the Spring. I don't want to zap the ladies! But so far the fact that it has caught so many fruit flies makes me one happy buyer.
