D'allesandroOrganic Dried Shiitake Mushrooms, Sliced, 1 lb - Rich and Earthy Flavor, Gourmet Quality

Okay, Amazon rejected my first review, apparently since you're now barred from mentioning anything to do with pricing, packing, shipping, or availability in a product review. Trying again with that (helpful) information removed.I am very happy with my Organic Sliced Shiitake Mushrooms, 1 lb Bag. My only complaint is that there was no indicator of place of origin included. The "Product description" of the Amazon listing says (in full) "Ship from Thailand" [sic], so if that's up-to-date, then I guess that's where they're from (originally).The mushrooms were in a blue poly bag, and I transferred them into a "ziplock" freezer bag and stored them in the freezer for maximum freshness retention (and bug denial). Speaking of bugs, when I was looking at all the companies on Amazon that had dried shiitake, most of them had some reviews where customers reported bug infestation and/or other quality problems. Although D'allesandro (apparently the supplier for River Colony Trading) didn't have a large number of reviews for me to go by, all of the reviews I read of their mushrooms were positive (and I also liked that they were gourmet-foods-oriented). And it appears that the mushrooms people are reporting problems with are from China, so if these are indeed from Thailand, that would seem to be a plus.And these mushrooms were indeed super-clean. There was no foreign matter in the bag; everything in there was shiitake, and I did not feel the need to rinse the mushrooms before putting them in my soup, pasta, etc. And these uniformly included little to none of the tougher stems, instead being just the caps. Slice width was also uniform (and very time-saving when cooking). I can't say they were the most flavorful dried shiitake I've ever bought (which might be related to how thoroughly they were apparently washed), but for the extremely affordable price, they were superb.I will definitely be buying this item from this supplier and seller again, as soon as that is possible.

A nice big bag of dried mushrooms that are far better than anything canned. That's important to me as I live far from a local market where fresh produce is available. I will buy this product again in the future .

Ad is correct in every way but darn, these things are chewy. Been happier simply buying the powder form. The only upside is that there is a lot of them.

Very nice LARGE bag of Organic sliced mushrooms. The whole ones are not nearly as usable as these and the flavor is delicate and clear. Recommend ! ! !

Very clean mushrooms, seem to be excellent quality. Using them in soups for their medicinal properties, plus they taste wonderful. Arrived very quickly.

As others have said, this is a HUGE HUGE bag of mushrooms. Good quality.
