I prefer buying blocks of cheese and cutting and shredding it my self. A local business recommended the knife and i've been so happy. It makes it so easy to cut all kinds of cheese. My grandmother has bad Rheumatoid Arthritis, and now she is able to cut blocks of cheese. Before she would rarely attempt the chore and would leave it to me.

Yes it's a cheese knife but also perfect slicing tomatoes. Cuts cake nicely as well. Cutco has a wonderful warranty. Purchased my first Cutco 30 some years ago from a college student ~ still great! Used to love Henkel but honestly Cutco seems better and made in the US!

Be careful it is sharper than any other knife. I cut myself but I love the knife
