The replacement charger arrived quickly but I never deduct stars if the product arrives late as long as it arrives in one piece which it did.The reason I needed another charger was because my wire in my original Toshiba Charger had come open and actually set some sparks off and burned itself during spanish class one day.1. The jack is L shaped.2. The power supply part of the this charger is lighter than my original one by at least 1/3. I think this is actually a good thing just for the lighter bulk to carry with me.3. The power supply does not get very hot at all compared to my original charger which would at least get to 100 degrees plus and always felt like it was going to fry itself one day (which it did). I believe this charger is going to last me a long time. When I say this charger is barely hot, I literally mean it, the temperature of the power supply pack is only about 80 degrees. I took this temperature when it was charging my laptop for 8 hours continuously. There is no change in temperature.4. It's very well constructed its built to last, its not one of those really cheap chinese manufactured electronic goods. (I'm Asian just so that you don't think i'm racist of something) just trying to relate.5. The only con to the charger is the part where you plug the cord into the power supply and to the wall theres something weird about how it was made. This is really hard to explain but try to bear with me. The cord that plugs into the wall and the power supply pack that plug-in part to the supply pack for some reason does not let you plug the cord in all the way into the power supply because its like the manufacturer didnt' cut the cord down all the way for you to plug it all the way in. I am currently using my old power cord for this charger which works just fine, but just pointing that out.In conclusion, the price is very unbeatable and this will last you sometime as long as you don't throw it out a window or use it to start a fire. I bought my first one 4/18 and it lasted about a year and half. The problem was at the end of the cord was the flex area which got flexed one to many times. It had been going bad for a couple months but I got it to work by straightening out the cord. Finally went out totally so I decided to try again. Pleased that my new one has an angled connector. Hope it lasts much longer. If not; well it was cheap so I bought two. Now if I don't lose it I'm good for probably longer than the laptop will

This does just what I wanted it to do... which is, supply power to my laptop. I use my laptop in many different locations and have a tendency to pull at the cord by accident... (I usually sit too far from an outlet!) I like this supply cord, but have to watch that I don't put pressure on it, because of the angle and the fact that it has interchangeable 'heads' so that it can be used to fit a multitude of different laptops, cameras, iphones, etc. I had one scare when the voltage switch slid from the correct voltage and it was not getting enough juice! I thought my battery was toast, but figured out the problem and all was ok. So far so good... I just watch the voltage selector and make sure not to put undo pressure on the connections. I would recommend to anyone who is a little bit tech savvy. This multi-functional power supply even has a USB port.

I bought this one since the Toshiba PS OEM replacement is almost $100.00 with shipping ouch. It lasted me around 4 years not bad, but didn't think it would be this costly for a replacement. So I started pricing them. I stumbled upon this one for the price how can you go wrong and after reading reviews. I took a chance and I am pleased with it so far.Final thoughts:Pros- Does not get red hot like Toshiba OEM, Price, the L shaped plug that goes into the laptop. Very Fast shipping!Cons- The only negative is the cord is shorter by a approx 24". Not a big deal, the rest of the pluses makes up for it. So if you need one don't think you have to by OEM to get the best. Most of them are made in the same factory anyway just put the factory name on it. So if your like me and want the most bang for your buck this is it!

When my cats chewed through my laptop cord and the electrical tape no longer stopped the sparks, I decided I needed a replacement. Unfortunately, I am not well versed in electronics (even though I have had to replace the cords to all my electronics since saving the darlings) and took a chance on a "replacement cord". I was concerned that what I ordered would not be compatible with my computer, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that is works. I placed my order on Saturday afternoon and by Monday afternoon it was in my mail box. The only drawback is that the cord has to be at a certain angle to charge, but I feel that is due to being a replacement and not anything defective with the cord. Great price and great service!

This charger worked out for me at under 8 bucks and free prime shipping! Yes when I first received unit it got a little hotter than usual, but think about it? You are charging your dead battery and powering your laptop while using it all at the same time, It draws the maximum amps and gets Hot. After charging up battery I find that the charger stays warm, typical for any charger and has worked great for over 30 days for me. realizing that this is a charger I have mine placed on top of a 12 inch square ceramic tile as a precaution and do not put anything flammable covering it, common sense. my Toshiba laptop model number is A665-S5170, hope this helps the skeptics.

There was a time when replacing a power cord for a laptop was an expensive and aggravating process. Because of this, my wife kept fumbling with a cord that had a bad connector. I informed her that power cords no longer cost $60, and that she could just search Amazon for the brand and series of her laptop. She did so and received her new power cord two days later.
