I read the product spec sheet (PDF) and expected to find the metal ties to nail between studs. Even the product dimensions hint that those were included by stating the dimension of 16+ inches. Only the plastic box, valve and hardware to fasten the valve to the box arrived. I simply don't know whether to return it or make my own bracket.I have used these before, purchased locally, and they are a great item. But ...

Happy with the product but the loose parts are shipped loose in a plastic bag. Brass threads have no protection as they bounce around.

Very nice way to install propane line hookups in home. Simple, clean lines, love that it is recessed so the dryer and stove can sit flat against wall.

The idea is great! The design is flawed. As you can see in the pictures, all the tabs sit beyond the back side of the drywall. If you try to put the drywall over the tabs. You run the risk of cracking the drywall. It will also not be flush. To avoid that, I shaved down the back side of the drywall where the tabs are located. You can also cut the unused ones off and shave off the drywall where the used tabs are. Other than that, it looks nice and clean once you get all that sorted out.

I am an avid shopper at my local big box home store and was disappointed that they didn't offer a gas version of the water outlet box. Given the time crunch of my project, I was going to just use a water outlet box and switch out the necessary parts to install a gas valve. I am extremely happy that I did not do that. The Ox Box I received is a far superior product than the water outlet box that I purchased. It is much thicker and has additional hardware for mounting. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to install a gas line. The recessed nature of the box allows for more room and provides a clean and professional look.

Did I just paid $30 for a empty plastic box? At least looks well constructed.

Good price, installed easily, even looks good. The threads on the valve are easy to get to. Has been working just fine in my house for about 40 months.
