Hill House Living: The Art of Creating a Joyful Life

This was a purchase made to support someone I follow on Instagram, but I was absolutely delighted when I opened the book. It is packed with pictures, gardening tips, recipes, entertaining ideas, and decor. Incredibly well executed and dense in the very best way.

I love this author, she fun and beautiful. Her book is a delight. I originally saw her on YouTube

I am devouring each page and feel so inspired. I even sent a book to my daughter for her birthday. I would highly recommend.

I’ve been following Paula on Instagram for a while now and her posts never fail to make me smile. This book absolutely does the same. It’s filled with beautiful photos, useful tips, neat projects, and delicious recipes (including her famous Victoria Sponge!). It’s raining outside, and I can’t wait to hunker down on the sofa and cozy up with a cup of tea and this lovely book. I will enjoy this book for many years to come, I doubt it could ever be dated to me.

This book is so beautifully written and laid out, and Paula’s sensibility learned from her Grenadian parents is so relatable! The content is easy to digest and gives the reader confidence to try something new, not to mention an overall inspirational story.I read this book cover to cover in one week! Also, do yourself a favor and follow her on Instagram for a jolt of joy. Her Instagram and this book have helped me slowly build the nerve to try myhand at gardening and other home decor things and I am officially hooked!

This book is very limited in photos and too much narration of herself, pictures of herself, and commentary about her lifestyle. Quality of print was bland and do not recommend for enriching the visually of decorating and styling in the cottage asthetic.

I do love this book. I know that there are many books out there that appear to be similar, however, this one really does stand out. It is colourful and jolly. The author isn’t a bit preachy, instead, offering suggestions, along with a very readable narrative. It can be hard to express your true self within your home, and much easier to follow minimalistic trends, or whatever is in fashion at a particular time. Paula Sutton gives out a very different message, which isn’t stated as such, but shines out through the photography,and beautifully written narrative.

I follow Hill House Vintage/Paula on instagram and have been looking forward to this book release. This is a lovely gentle read with lots of hints and tips on creating a home style that is comfortable and authentic. I enjoyed her writing style and thumbing through the pages with beautiful photos. I am a complete novice when it comes to interiors and found this book so helpful in better understanding what I like with historical context around periods in architecture and style. Would highly recommend.

I brought this gift as a Christmas gift for My Mother, I also have to buy another copy for my best friend as they are both fans of Paula.Great book I purchased the hardcover version, very creative, great ideas and a great read.
