the seal on the flush valve for our kohler one-piece low-profile san raphael toilet (k-3466) wore out and it seemed the tank hadn't been cleaned in a while, so rather than replacing just the seal we decided to clean out and flush the entire tank with a citric acid solution, then replace all of the tank components including the flush valve that we purchased from here. it is solid and well-built, we have no reason to suspect that it is some cheaply-made knockoff rather than an OEM part.. some people have mentioned that they've experienced issues with getting the valve to clamp onto the tank given the rigidity of the new seal.. i personally didn't have any issues, but others have had luck with soaking the seal by itself in warm water, then quickly compressing it using clamps (between two blocks, or books for example) and placing it into the freezer for 24hrs. what this allows you to do is keep the seal compressed so that you can place it back onto the flush valve and clamp it onto the tank without any resistance.. but act fast once you take the compressed seal out of the freezer, because it will revert back to its normal shape very quickly to ensure a proper seal. good luck!

The product exactly met my expectations and fixed my running toilet. My wife is happy so I am happy. I'm glad I spent some time watching YouTube videos showing exactly what is involved, I like to know exactly how to approach a project before I begin so I don't waste time solving problems others have already solved. That said, when the videos mentioned that getting the thing to click into place on inside of the tank was a little tough, they understated things considerably. There isn't a whole lot of room in there for big hands and I was unable to get it to click into place until I used a long flat-blade screwdriver as a lever to coerce it into place. Start to finish, including time to utter some cuss words and go to the garage to get that lever was about 15 minutes.
