90700 Lee Precision, Auto Bench Priming Tool

Where has this been all my life? I have been using a Lee hand primer for many years, which works great. This works as good, but is easier on your hands, and especially your thumb. Get ya one!

Works very well. You will have to order shell holders that work with it as the shell holders for the press want work with it, but the cost is low. I just took my time at First till I got the feel of it and speed came with a little bit of use.

Super smooth operation, much easier and faster than a handheld at a very economical price!

ok, so if you are not paying attention and double feed a primer you are going to break this thing. pay attention!! don't break your tools. I have loaded 5000 rounds and counting with this bench priming tool and it works great, Pros: don't have to pickup every single primer very quick to reload and operate everything is see through Cons: very fragile ( clear plastic ) primer tray/hopper doesn't work worth a damn, you have to tap it a bunch no matter what you do you can break this tool if your not paying attention it does push a primer in sideways once in a while if it gets jammed you need a paper clip and a shot of whiskey to get it unjammed you have to buy shell holders just for this tool! this thing still rocks, i would not prime any other way now, this makes everything so much faster. and would recommend to a friend

Lee Precision Auto Bench Prime Everyting needed was in the box, including bolts.Tool contains a folding primer tray, a large primer tray adapter, a small primer tray adapter, and a base with lever. The tool requires Lee Auto Prime shell holders (not included). This is my first "stand alone" priming tool, so I cannot compare to other brands of bench mounted or hand held tools.I have arthritis, so hand held tools are not something I would use. I have a Dillon RL550B, I decap and size the brass in bulk, then measure and inspect each case. Using this workflow, it is faster to bulk prime the inspected brass and then start the Dillon at station two to bell the case and drop the powder. Setup only took a few minutes. I cut a one inch oak stair tread to use as a mounting base. Using the supplied 2 bolts, I countersunk the two 1/4x20 blts into the bottom of the oak. I am left handed so I mounted the Auto Bench Prime slightly left-center with the handle to the right. The Auto Bench Prime is symmetrical and will face either direction. The proper primer tray adapter is inserted into the base and then the proper shell holder. The three position latch on the primer tray is stiff and it is easy to move it to the ON position after loading primers instead of the LOCK position. Hold the primer tray horizontal until it is tipped at the angle required to insert it into the primer tray adapter. This will minimize the likelihood of spillage. The tray does not reliably gravity feed the primers, so keep an eye on the primer feed and "jiggle" the tray as needed. If the handle is not operated in a steady manner, a primer can double feed and lock the mechanism. A jam will cause the lever to have resistance in the first couple of inches of travel. If resistance is felt, stop and fish out the extra primer. Once a flow is established, several hundred rounds of pistol brass can be primed in an hour. I have not tested the device with rifle brass. Always follow the Lee Precision safety recommendations and wear eye and ear protection at all times. Also note the warning about certain primer sizes and brands that create unsafe conditions with the product. After about 500 cases, I am satisfied with the product. Due to the "quirks" that occur during a session, I am giving four stars.

Instantly unwrapped when received, got to bench and started priming. If your a careful person and your not trying speed past every step, this is a great and painless tool. Bought it because my brand new press from Lyman, the on press prime system was trash. Primer seat depth was off. When I got the Lee, I took the same cases and seated them further. Lee is great and makes great products.

I used to use a Lee Hand Press with a Lee Ram Primer. But this requires me to load each primer into the cup one at a time. Too time consuming. I thought of using a Lee Auto Prime (handheld). But I have a feeling that my hand will be very tired after priming 30+ cases. This Lee Bench Primer has none of those 2 problems. I mount it on a short piece of wood, and I can use it any where like using a handheld Auto Prime. This means I can sit on my sofa and watch TV while priming the cases. In my first try, the primer didn't sit deep enough because I didn't know how much force that I needed to apply on it. After that all went well. I consider this as easy to learn to use it. There is one thing that you need to be careful of when you use this priming tool. After you press down the lever, you need to lift it all the way up to reset the mechanism and to allow the next primer to fall into the hole. If you didn't lift the lever high enough to reset the mechanism, you will jam it and is hard to fix the jam. I consider this as the weakness of this tool. Luckily this is something that I can quickly learn to avoid this problem.

Received the bench primer and unpacked it. Inspected all components and they seem to be in good working order. The small and large primer holders are made of plastic. I do get into reloading and as for longevity, I'm not sure how long they will operate. I going to give it a try. If not impressed, I will write another review. My opinion is, they should have made them out of metal.

Al momento ho potuto verificare il prodotto puramente dal punto di vista estetico: Bello, essenziale e comodamente funzionale. L'articolo appare solido e stabile, i movimenti fluidi e privi di attriti o inceppamenti. La base risulta essere in due parti di alluminio stampato ben accoppiate e prive di flessioni. La leva in acciaio è comoda ed ergonomica, liscia al tatto e priva di asperità esenta da ogni qualsivoglia Bava da lavorazione. L'assemblaggio delle parti fra loro è facile ed intuitivo. Insomma un ottimo prodotto. Appena ne avrò la possibilità di utilizzo verificherò funzionalità e comodità. Per ora confermo senza dubbi la mia soddisfazione. Maurizio
