RIO Products Mainstream Trout DT Fly Line - Developed for the Average Fly Fishermen - Easy Casting and Smooth Design - Floating Freshwater Line

The Rio Mainstream fly line I ordered is reasonably priced and suits my purposes very well. Fished with it today and encountered no issues. Now I'll see how it holds up. One observation: the line doesn't come with preformed loops on each end. A couple of nail knots aren't difficult, but would factory loops jack up the price?

Bought this to use on small mountain streams. Used on a small simple reel, there was much more line than the reel could handle. Decided to cut the double taper line in half, so have two for the price of one. Casting was more than adequate for the situations.

Rio makes good affordable fly line. DT line is great for river fishing because you don't usually have to cast as far.

Smooth casting high quality floating line. Does not cast as well as the Rio Gold XP but good for use on a backup reel.

This line did not come with a front welded loop as it says on the box. It also says, on the box, that it is weight forward - I don’t trust that statement either at this point.

A very nice starter fly line from Rio, just like you would fight at Bass Pro or Cabela’s and, if I remember pricing, may be a bit cheaper!

The line cast well travels through guides smoothly , doesn’t loops you will need a nail or needle not for your least

Good product and brand. Worked fine for my new fly reel.
