Best of Creedence Clearwater Revival

Gift to grandson who loves CCR music and who plays the guitar. He was super excited to get this for his birthday so he can play and sing so many of the CCR greatest hits.

I love this book! I have been a fan of CCR for a long time, and trying to play Fogerty's guitar parts just from internet tabs and/or by ear, is extremely difficult. The Guitar Recorded Versions tab book is easy to read, has the all of the lyrics and multiple guitar parts all together. There are chord diagrams at the beginning of every song as well. I have been playing for maybe a year now, and this is my favorite tab book because of the readability, quality of print, layout of the information...and of course, it's Creedence.For the money, it's hard to beat any of the Guitar Recorded Versions tab books from Hal Leonard, and the Best of CCR is no different. Highly recommended!

Over the years, much has been said of John Fogerty's guitar playing - it's simple; it's underrated; it's influential; it's a pastiche of many styles: blues, country, rock, and rockabilly. In a way, that just about sums it up. Add to that list the fact that Fogerty was one spectacular songwriter who knew just how to accompany himself.That said, this tab book is excellent. The tabs are accurate and the song selection is logical. There are tunes that span CCR's entire catalogue; there are also some acoustic songs and well as the par for the course electric numbers. Some are easier than others, but there is a nice immediacy to this book; by this, I mean that assuming you have the proper musical equipment, you will sound similar to the recorded version ASAP.

This was just what I wanted. Very detailed and accurate tabs. I have had other books that were just low quality transcriptions in the wrong key. This one is correct and priced right.

I probably should have looked at reviews & descriptions more before purchasing because this was way too complex for my beginner-guitarist needs. I grew up doing beginner piano and can read music, have been taking guitar lessons for about a year now, and am a general fan of CCR, but for me personally, this book was just way too in-depth. If you want to learn every single solo note-for-note and break down chords and songs into their complex components, this is the book for you! If you are looking more for a a one-chord-per-measure situation, with the occasional tab/solo enhancement, I think you'll find this an overpowered resource. Compared to my current skills, this book is for sure not going to be "coming up around the bend" for a good while.

For advanced guitar players good book

I bought this knowing it would be filled with fun songs It did not disapoint. Not a fake book, not a beginner book but if you have some experince don't pass this up

Great book, lots of songs. Many of them you could probably figure out on your own but I like to have them in front of me with the lyrics. Good purchase!

Enjoyed playing and singing the songs in the book. Old songs, great songs.

While discussing what new songs I would like to work on with my guitar tutor, I mentioned how much I love Creedence Clearwater Revival. Got an enthusiastic response from him and the warning to avoid many of the internet tabs. So, I set about looking for a source, with a good range of songs. Found this on the Hal Leonard website and set about checking it and the other versions available out there, via reviews on Amazon and other places.Decided on this one and I am very pleased I did. Got the nod of approval from my guitar tutor as it has all the lyrics and the various guitar parts included. Have begun my River Boat ride into their material and am enjoying it immensely. It has 20 of CCR's best known songs with varying degrees of complexity so you can grow into it, as I hope to.
