First One Failed - But free replacement the Charm
I wish I could write a good review of this can opener but, alas, I cannot. The first time I used it it worked fine. It opened four cans splendidly, safely and I was delighted. That was the last time it worked. The very next time I tried to use, I COULD NOT get it to work. Since I was making dinner and had a canned ingredient, getting into the can was essential, but try as I might I couldn't get the opener to open the can. It was like it wasn't gripping or something. Worse, as I kept at it, the attack generated little metal shavings and splinters and one managed to get into my finger where it still resides. I know a lot of people have had a good experience with this device and I might be an outlier, but I am going to have to send it back.UPDATE: The company replaced the defective one and the new one works fantastically well. Opens the cans safely and reliably. Great. Will probably use this as a stocking stuffer for some of my cooking family this Christmas.

Doesn't work, Get the Normal Can Opener Design!
Wow, what a disappointment. This would not open cans. it was strange because on some cans it would and then others it wouldn't even puncture them.I even had to show my boyfriend how big of a waste it was. We aren't dumb or weak, just a couple 30 year olds trying to make this thing work. Over half the time we would end up running to the neighbors to borrow their normal can opener.Bottom line: if its not broke don't fix it! Nothing wrong with the standard can opener design, but there is something really wrong with this. Ended up throwing away after a couple months.

OK but not the best
I bought this for my husband to use. I have another style that I like better but he has wrist problems & finds it difficult to use. We tried this one once and it does not make a smooth a cut as my other one but my husband is able to work it. There were still some pretty sharp spots as the cutting was not real consistent. Here is the one I like better and I have no problems with it's functioning:https://www.amazon.com/Kuhn-Rikon-Safety-LidLifter-White/dp/B0055978X8/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1469828097&sr=8-14&keywords=Kuhn+Rikon+manual+can+opener

I loved it for the first few days
I loved it for the first few days, then all of a sudden it stopped working. It wouldn't cut into the cans anymore.

Not for the less strong
The thumb and index finger positions are 1 3/4 inches apart requiring quite a bit of torque. No problem for most guys. Impossible for someone whose wrist or hand is not strong. For me 4 stars, for my wife - forget about it. Other brands that favor a female consumer use a 2 1/2 width.

I have never seen anything like this!
I have never seen anything like this!!! I don't usually have time to give reviews for my purchases but this item required time to be put aside. I stopped eating canned goods because I spent so much money purchasing can openers that rusted after washing them. I was also discouraged by the pieces of metal from the top of the can that mixed inside the food after opening the can. I don't know when this item came out in the market but HOOORAYYY!! Its beautiful, sleek, no rusting, easy to use, and healthy! Thank You for bringing this item into My home.

Worked for about a week
Really liked this Can Opener, well at least I did for the 1st week. After the 1st week everytime I try to use it it doesnt open the can the whole way and leaves these thin metal shreds all over the top of the can and my counter. It makes for a huge mess and Ive had to throw out a couple cans as I wont take the chance that the shreds have made the way into the food. So this thing is no longer in our drawer. Really wanted to like this and was hoping to have this for a long time but guess we see how that worked out
