Excellent Quality in a Value Priced Knife/Fork Set
I believe a well engineered and sharp knife can safe you time and is much safer to use than low cost, quickly dulling discount offerings. I have only purchased the Zwilling J.A. Henckels knives to date and they have served me well for almost 25 years. I was looking for a 12" meat carving knife by Henckels, but they only offered a 10" version (@ $110 Amazon price). Therefore I was willing to try this Kessaku knife and fork to see if they would be as well made and have similar performance. Kessaku states they use German steel with a full tang handle (blade steel continues through the handle). When I received the knife and fork (purchased in a set), I found the quality of the packaging to be excellent. If you are giving these as gifts, the recipients will think each is over $100 with the high density foam inserts and magnetic open/close sealing the box. Also included is a nice plastic sheath for the knife to protect the blade while storing in drawers, etc. along with a microfiber cloth for cleaning. The cloth is a nice touch, but more of a marketing insert. The visual quality is top notch. Both the knife and fork have a clean, well engineered look with an attention to detail. I used these on a set of smoked baby back ribs, and the knife cut through them as if the ribs were warm butter. Smoked brisket next with the same results. If you're looking for a carving knife and/or fork, I would highly recommend these Kessaku products for both quality and value for the price.

A Perfectly Serviceable Slicing Knife
I appreciate the value of this knife and fork set. For the money, it is hard to beat. The grind on the blade is a little rough; I plan to strop it with leather and polishing compound before first use. I do all my own sharpening so we will see how long the edge lasts. For a slicing knife, the tang seems a bit thick and the blade is not as flexible as I would like; this is my professional opinion based on years of using other knives. A slicing knife should be as thin as possible from edge to tang for making thin cuts. Not sure how this will perform, but I am hopeful that I won't have to buy something more expensive.

Impressed us out of the box.
Pulled this from the box and handed it to my wife so that she could cut the 2 Pork Shoulders with Bone-in that we just brought home from the store. Literally, this was on our porch when we got home. She had both Pork Shoulders carved to her liking and in the freezer before I got the groceries unloaded. I asked her about her experience with the new gifts and she absolutely LOVED them. She spoke of how sharp the knife was and how it cut through both Shoulders like butter. I can't speak for durability since we have had this for less than 8 hours but the first cutting experience made my wife happy for sure. There is a plastic sheath that also comes in the nice storage box but to me it seemed a bit dangerous considering how sharp the knife is out of the box. We elected to keep that just in case but the box is so nice (like a display box) that we will keep her new knife stored away in that. Our plan is to use this knife as a raw meat only carving knife. It's that nice and sharp.

Exceptionally well crafted
Bought this set for slicing and carving meats mainly brisket, turkey and ham for the holidays. Well weighted, well balanced and heavy as well! They look great and are well presented. So far they have kept edge and I will update review if I find any downsides over time.

Excellent and worth the price!
I have been doing weeks of research on a slicing knife. I just Recently bought a pellet smoker and smoked a brisket, pork shoulder, chicken. I wanted a nice slicing knife but with great quality. I came across this Kessaku knife set. Compared the specs with other higher end slicing knife and made my choice. I love it! The package came on time, very well packaged, knife is straight and SHARP!!! The fork looks amazing as well. I cut some ham and cut like butter!!! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a nice looking, high quality and value knife!
