Real Turmeric but NOT Prop. 65
I did the water test on this and it passed with flying colors, so "apparently" I got the real deal. The only thing that concerns me is the possibility of heavy metals in this product (I have stricter standards than most). See the general guidelines for lead belowFRONTIER COOP: ≥1ppm (per sample)Prop. 65: ≥0.5 ppm (MADL)FDA: ≥10ppm (in a given product)I commend this company for conducting testing on their products to ensure QAQC for health and safety, and I believe it makes them a better product in the end because so. I would recommend this product, but personally will only buy products with ND limits of heavy metals as their standard, in the future.

Frontier Brands
My daughter introduced me to Frontier. She was a buyer for a group she belonged to. They took orders and bought accordingly in bulk -- then when product arrives -- it is split up between group members according to their orders. Frontier Co-Op is the best for spices, oils, teas, skin care products, extracts. dried fruit, supplements & nutritional products... The are a NATURAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. This is from their website: Frontier Co-op began as a two-person operation in 1976 in a river cabin in Eastern Iowa. Since then we‘ve grown steadily to become a major supplier to the natural products industry. Our success throughout the years reflects our close harmony with the product needs and the values of our members and consumers. I would have bought directly from them but this product was cheaper on Amazon and shipping is easier on Amazon so I went with them. Sorry, Frontier. But please do check out their website. It's the real deal in natural food products.

Good nutrition.
Very good clean product it is what it says it is on the ingredients. Nothing used in cleaning processing machines to make this product contaminates the flavor or organic nature.

Seems to be what it is supposed to be.
This is a really rich color and smell. It seems fresh. It is very tasty. I use about 1/2 tsp in my smoothies. It is hard to taste, but if you were sensitive to such things, I think it might bother you if you did not like the taste of turmeric. I use it for the health benefits, so I ignore it. Seems like a quality product and I like that it is organic--whatever that means in that it is from India.

Be faithful in using it.
Good stuff. We mix it with raw honey, raw apple cider vinegar and scrap off bits of lemon peel. We then take it straight or mix it in hot tea. Haven't been sick since.

Bitter, but's that's how it's supposed to be
Tastes bitter, like real turmeric is supposed to. One of the reviews I read said that that sweet tumeric was superior. This is not how curcumin is supposed to taste, and might be due to lead contamination. This stuff ain't cheap, but when you pay the farmers a decent wage, they tend not to cut corners on quality because it would endanger their paychecks.
