These bulbs are an amazing value. I purchased them to replace some broken bulbs in my photographic softbox (which required a temperature around 5100K). These were so much cheaper than the "manufacturer recommended bulbs" from the softbox's website. I don't have to worry about breaking any more of these in the future at such an affordable price. They seem just as bright as the originals (which, to most of the people I put in front of them, is too bright even on half power!) and take up less space in my travel container (they're about 3/4 the height of the original bulbs).

Hard light bulbs, last a long time great to save money on lights that are left on long time like porch lights.

I like the light these make though I prefer 6500 k over 5000 and all of these CFL's seem to burn out early or have a high failure rate . I will say when you go through a few bad ones and finely get all good ones in place they do last a long , long , time . For some people 6500k is so bright it gives them headaches and these will be a great compromise and way better then the 2700k bulbs that give off allot of red spectrum light and I just detest . On returns it is not really economical to do for these bulbs on that note I take off a star because store branded ones are better in that regard if the store will exchange them in house with proof of purchase . Good luck ps try the 40 watt 200 watt equivilent bulbs they are awesome in winter I use a few in the living room and dining room during the gloomy months and they seem to pick everyone up and might even help with making a little more Vitamen D .
