Very good quality, lots of great features and capabilities...
I really like this product. It is very difficult to find a device that will record mobile calls (which is what I bought it for) and this does the trick. It is a bit fiddly to get it hooked up for recording mobile calls, but since this device is intended to do much more than that (record open-air voices, record land-lines, etc...) I can live with the little bit of hassle to get it connected for mobile call recording. It does come with all the "stuff" you need for mobile recording, including earbuds, a lapel mic, a splitter to combine your voice and the callers voice into the single mic jack on the device, etc., so all you have to provide is the mobile phone and you are set to go. There are a few changes I would make if it were my company. I would have a single combined port for use with a headset/mic combo, and provide a splitter for those users that have separate mics and headphones, rather than the other way around where the device has separate headphone and mic jacks. I would also add Bluetooth connectivity so that the device could connect to your phone with Bluetooth, eliminating the need for the cable between the phone and the device. With such a setup, you could record a call with a single cable between the mic/headphone combo and the device. No splitters or additional cables required. Much cleaner, and since this is one of the few devices that supports recording mobile calls, my guess is that most users buy this particular device for that primary purpose. Also, the quality of the callers voice is not as good as it could be. That may just be a factor of the low-cost cables included, so I will try using better quality cables and update if that improves the sound quality of mobile call recording. Last but not least, regardless of whether you set it to record from the mic or from "line-in" it still records from both the built-in mic and an attached mic (lapel mic or headset mic) which basically renders that setting useless as far as I can tell. I will continue to experiment and update if I learn anything new. Still, all in all this is an excellent, feature rich device that works as advertised and there are very few devices anywhere near this price range that can do what it does.

Best buy for a voice recorder
If you are looking for a voice recorder that does it all and then some for a good price this recorder is the one. As a journalist I use it to record my interviews, and I bought it because I wanted to record my phone interviews directly. I haven't done that yet but the instructions were very clear and I am confident that I will not have any trouble with it. The voice recording for the built-in mic is crisp and clear, and the speaker is excellent.Despite what another reviewer said, I found the instruction manual to be incredibly useful and informative. I will say that most of the controls to me seemed very intuitive so I didn't need to rely on the manual too much. All the cables you need for the extra functions come bundeled with the recorder in a nice box which I like. The included headphones are decent too.The recorder has a good weight to it and a solid build. I'm not worried about breaking it if I accidentally drop it, not that I plan to. I already recommend it to a coworker because I was so impressed with it initially. It's definitely worth the money for all this recorder has to offer. You can also put music on it of you want.

Easy to use
I got this to record Q&A interviews for a publication I write for...the idea of placing the recording microphone in an earpiece is great. I had bought an inline recorder, the TR600 but I found it difficult to use, especially because the phone is in a different room and I move around with my notebook computer and cordless phone or Pixel Smartphone.. With DeciVibe the recorder can sit on my desk, or wherever I happen to be working. I've used it with Panasonic cordless handsets (3, so one is always charged) and their standard headset, although if I do a lot of recording I will look for a deeper headset so it doesn't put so much pressure on my ear. The handbook and controls are not intuitive -- the videos help a lot. Small devices are challenging because there isn't a lot of room for controls, and labels but with a few minutes online I figured it out. Very solid feel.

Not Journalist Reccomended
I'm a professional journalist with more than 25 years experience who would like to warn others against buying this product to use professionally. I've found it to be unreliable in every way, and the only thing it has lived up to as promised is the fact that it's made of metal.1. When I received the recorder, I had to contact customer service, as I couldn't even move the switch to turn it on. They replied quickly with instructions on how to loosen the button and recommended I lubricate the button or use a tool to turn it on. No one seemed concerned, though, that the item wasn't ready to use right out of the box. I shouldn't have to muscle the the switch into position to use it if it's new. Turning it on is still a challenge, but it has gotten easier.2. The battery has completely died on several occasions with virtually no use. I've made sure it was fully charged prior to operation, but it has died during three different interviews. Luckily, I had used backup recorder, as this one was proving to be unreliable.3. Likewise, the recorder has simply stopped working during interviews at least half a dozen times. The screen freezes and all buttons become completely unresponsive, even though it's charged. My only remedy for that has been to turn it off and on repeatedly until it works again.4. Lastly, you don't need to buy this item to record phone calls, as I found other vendors that sell JUST the earpiece to plug into virtually any voice recorder to record calls for a fraction of the price as this recorder. I have thus far used them effortlessly and with zero issues. I can't believe I spent so much money on this recorder when there were options for less than a quarter of the price that do the exact same thing, only reliably.
