Although you can use video conference software without a green screen, visual artifacts can create a distracting and less-than-professional look. You can end up with the dreaded "glowing fuzz" line around your head. Or things in your IRL background can pop through the virtual background if you move forward and back relative to the webcam. A green screen makes you look better, but setting up a screen is a pain, and those screens with spring-steel frames can create their own problems (like falling over or onto you during a video meeting). So, after trying various solutions, I finally decided to try this pull-down screen. It's basically like slide-show screens for those old enough to remember Kodak carousels. The downside is that you have to mount it to the wall, so be prepared to put in some drywall anchors (the anchors that come with the screen are, somewhat strangely, concrete/brick anchors). But once the screen is mounted, all you have to do is pull it down when you have a meeting, then retract it into the housing when done. It's super easy and smooth to retract. Not as flexible as a portable screen, if you need to move around your video meeting location, but it's great if you usually do your remote meetings from the same place. Well worth the hundred bucks to me, since it saves me ten minutes of setup time before and after meetings.

They should all be made this way. So much easier than setting up a stand. It works flawlessly. Some have reported it not retracting properly but I've had no issues with it what so ever and I can set it at different heights off the floor if I want to. It seems like a very solid built product made of steel construction. No rips or wrinkles in the screen itself. Nice strong smooth material. I love it. I wish they would come up with some wider models as well but this is the biggest I could find in a pull down model.. Don't get me wrong this is very big and definitely more than I need. I just have an 8 ft wide window that I'd like to pull it down over but it's just not quite wide enough. It did come with a tiny dent but I can't fault the product or manufacturer. It was well packaged and no scratches so it must have been the shipping that put the ding in it. It's barely noticeable so I'm not worried about it. Anyway great product. Glad I purchased it.

This screen is nice and wide and covers more area . Easy to pull down and retracts nice and slow . Made from a durable material. Screen is brights and easy to color key .

It works, but the quality is not confidence inspiring. When the green screen is fully deployed, it feels like it could unlock itself, roll up quickly and slam up against the housing at any moment. That has never happened during a zoom call, but did happen one time during preparation for a call. I have resorted to pretty much just leaving it in the down position all the time, as I am a bit mistrustful of the screen locking mechanism. Bottom line: it definitely works, but is designed to do that “just barely.”

I have wanted something like this for my office but wouldn't spend the money. This is mounted to my ceiling so when I need it I just pull it down. Now I can do a quick interview and retract it back up. I love it! Built well and has never acted up.

This is my first pull-down green screen. I've used a lot of cloth screens. I was concerned it might be too shiny because of the canvas material, but that's not the case. It works great I use it with OBS. It is less "finicky" about lighting than other green screens I've used. It is very durable. I raise and lower it several times daily and have never been concerned about quality.

I've experimented with several green screen iterations and this old-school solution is the best by a mile. It truly is constructed like the movie screens we used to unfurl like a window shade, is easy to use and although a bit heavy is super easy to install, either as a permanent addition to a home-office or on location with added stands.
