Brilliant writing but it feels slightly overhyped
I started this novel after coming across hemingway's letter to fitzgerald about the book when fitzgerald seeked hemingay's opinion on it. Being interested in both these writers & lives I picked up this book.I had high hopes when I started this book with being drawn into it from first chapter. fitzgerald writing is sublime, his descriptions & depth to which he goes to flesh out his two main characters Dick & Nicole diver is brilliantly done. This book is divided into 3 parts & you can easily see the changes the main characters go through in each part. I felt the last two parts of Dick meeting Nicole for first time & then the final part where fitzgerald clinically dissects them both apart are my favorite, it delivers without being overly melodramatic & as a reader one can feel the inevitability of both these parts of falling in love & falling out of it done both brutally & honestly which is so rarely seen. But my main complain being Fitzgerald concentrating heavily on Divers while all other characters Baby warren, Rosemary all appears to be one-dimensional. While the Divers are going through a rollercoaster ride of changes all other characters around them remains the same & hence it becomes hard as a reader to feel for them & tough to slog through the part where Divers are not there, good writing can only take you so far.Overall I really enjoyed the details Fitzgerald goes into flesh out the Divers but the rest of the supporting characters seems to be just not there.

Deep and intricate
I really admire Fitzgerald's writing. His ability to mix fascination with intellect is really amazing. Whether it's the Great Gatsby or the beautiful and damned, he always brings together the human whims and wishes and the morals together in a smooth fashion. This makes his books so fun to read and so much more to learn from. This side of Paradise is another such book which makes the reader relate with Amory and his choices so very well. Amory chooses to go after his desires but the real learning is to introspect and find oneself in the quest for satisfying the desires. Another great book by Fitzgerald. Rosalind's character was quite strong and could have been really built upon in the novel. That was a dampener for me.

Ok product
Too much text ! Smaller font comparetively. The writer flows from one topic or scene to another without a break, which is confusing at times. Shift from character explanation to sloliloque to chit-chatting is even more confusing. Overall, ok book.

The worst print that I've come across.
Paper quality is good but I don't know why they didn't proof before publishing. All the words that should have been italicised are printed with underscores before and after. It's very annoying.Book itself is a good read. Fitzgerald has a poetic side and it's nice for those who have the patience

I had loved Fitzgeral's The Great Gatsby
I had loved Fitzgeral's The Great Gatsby. But I had no idea that he had written a book even more brilliant until I picked this one.

Paradise - Fitzgerald
