Review: I’ve had some Melanie Harlow books on my TBR for a while and finally cracked this one open. I actually bought it months ago but I kept getting swept I to other stories. I actually really enjoyed this book. The broken man trope may not be for everybody but I happen to love it! Unresolved trauma is an honest and huge barrier for people in general. Trust and showing emotion really is a weakness for a lot of men. I fell in love with Theo quickly and felt for his brokenness. The “how could you trust someone like me” concept is very real for so many men, especially men of color so I found it really relatable. I also love an angst story with spice and this one had a good amount of that! I am a fan of subtle spice and the raunchy almost BDSM spice. This was somewhere in the middle and I liked it! Review: It’s a love/dislike feeling with this book. It has a good start but it’s very predictable. I also find it difficult for a female to understand how a male orgasm/feel, so the narrator voice of the male doesn’t feel authentic. The story gets boring towards the end and just wanted to finish. In general it’s a nice book, but nothing special.

I was so excited to read this one and it did not let me down - I loved everything about this book! The way Theo and Claire meet, the instant chemistry between them, the incredibly hot sexy times, the romantic cooking scene that will make me think of this book every time I see a marshmallow, Claire's friends and Theo's brother -everything about this book was complete perfection. The epilogue was so good I read it 3 times before writing my review - best epilogue ever! Books like this are why I read romance, the way this story made me smile and swoon. This is a top pick of 2017 for me, a top favorite of all time with a perfect book boyfriend and a heroine I love. I already can't wait to go back and re-read this book!
