Real Good Toys Barn, Stores and Mouse House Ruff 'n Rustic All American Barn Dollhouse

Should have returned it as soon as we opened it! We had no idea that this was actually a kit that need to be glued together and painted and the trim needs to be cut by hand. This is a complete nightmare that was purchased for my daughter for Christmas and it’s going to take us forever To finish it. Just to give you a taste of our pain, there are over 500 pieces of shingles for the roof and they need to be glued individually! Do not purchase unless you understand what you’re getting into

I was looking for something to use in the preschool. The information given at the time said nothing about painting it or the numerous pieces. I expected to assemble but not each shingle, etc. It also said for children 4 and up....who are we kidding! I have a pre-K program and there is no way this item would hold up to play, no matter how careful. Also, when I wanted to return it, the box could not be opened...that was the only way that we realized the MULTIPLE pieces and no painted pieces were an issue. Therefore I was unable to return a very expensive article. I feel the information was true but not totally clear/complete.

My husband promised our niece that we'd build her a barn for her toy farm animals, but we didn't have enough time or confidence to do it without a kit. Thus, we bought this barn kit after looking at all of the ones available on Amazon. Despite us both being pretty handy, it took us 8 hours to complete. Most of the trim wood included in the kit came as long strips of lumber that had to be measured and cut to size. Nothing was painted. Each shingle had to be glued on by hand. The loft doors were supposed to be able to open and close, but they did not fit into the track grooves. We didn't have enough time to try to file them down to fit, so we glued them on the barn as shutters. The directions were relatively clear, but none of the lumber was labeled. Therefore, it was a challenge figuring out which strips of wood were supposed to be used for the varied trim work. We just couldn't believe we were painting and cutting wood and gluing on shingles with a kit that cost over $90. Even though the end product was beautiful and pretty sturdy, we believe we paid too much. By the way, I only gave the barn 4 stars for durability because the shingles are very fragile and chipped easily. Ultimately, our niece loved this barn, and we hope she gets good use out of it.

Pieces were precision cut. All parts fit very well. Easy assembly. Daughter loves to play with it

Misleading instructions. I didn't realize that it was for hobbyist to build. Even my son, who builds furniture, didn't want to do it. It cost me over $30 to send back.

excellent barn kit. very easy to modify. Quality materials used in this kit.

The description does not mention the extend of building involved . It is made for an experienced craftman/ builder. It is not even painted. I had to take it to a carpinter to finish it for us because it would not hold otherwise. Which costed me just as much as the barn . :( :(

I would like more detail and challenge to put the kit together. overall it was a good kit
