GORGEOUS, bad ball tho :/
TLDR; aesthetic: 10/10 GORGEOUSYarn ball results: 2/10 messy ball :/Customer service: ?/10 I didn't try lolI looked at so many yarn ball winders and fell in love with the aesthetic of this one. It's GORGEOUS and I kept talking about it. My mom got it for me as a gift for Christmas and I was so excited!! It's so beautiful! But it doesn't work very well :/ it seems to wobble in a way that doesn't efficiently roll a nice ball. The ball comes out with loose strands that get tangled. I ended up with at least 5 skiens of tangled yarn that i had to detangle and reroll (just to detangle again later and reroll with a diff ball winder). The clamp also isn't very stable. I kept trying bc I really wanted it to work!! I love it and want to be able to use it for my fiber arts, but it just doesn't work right. I watched videos to see if i was just using it wrong but was unable to make it work. I am quite disappointed and still attempt to use it once in a while. Like I said, she's GORGEOUS ! but I ended up getting a cheaper one from hobby lobby that works a lot better (she still has her issues but not nearly as many as this hot mess). I would've returned it but by the time I figured it out, the return window was closed. I didn't reach out to the company, I just took the L. I can't speak on their customer service bc I didn't try to get it solved other than by YouTube tutorial lol.

So excited, until…..
I was so excited to get this! After having a lot of issues with the plastic ones I decided to treat myself. The package arrived with very minimal instructions. The one that stuck out the most said to it leave the belt on when not in use. It stuck out because it was already in place when it arrived. Then it came time to wind some yarn. Now it doesn’t tell you if you should go clockwise or counterclockwise, so I have done both. The wheel with the handle wobbles, sometime the part holding the newly wound yarn will stick, while the top where the slots are and the inside of the piece are rough and tend to snag the yarn.I am beginning to regret my purchase. I wish I had just waited and not given in to my eagerness.

Looks can be deceiving
Need to return. I’m 3 days past the 30-day return window and just used this for the FIRST time. Didn’t even get one skein completed before the winder unscrewed! Looks great by functionality not their. The clamp wouldn’t work with my dining room table OR my butcher block counter. Not happy. Will see if I can return.

Item arrived damaged - construction could be better
This item would have been perfect if it didn't arrived damaged - the part that hold the yarn winder to the table is poorly designed and arrived broken. The yarn winder cushions under the main part could have had more grip - it keeps on sliding.

Non functional as shipped
Right out of the box there were issues. First being no instructions or information at all on getting it ready to use.Once put together there were very obvious fitment issues. How this is supposed to work the bobbin touching and spins around the little cone shaped knob as the bobbin on the base turns. Think of the earth spinning slowly as it also moves around the sun. As you can see if the first picture. The cone and the bobbin are no where near touching.Lucky for me I have a woodwork who was able to help make this functional. As you can see in the second picture he remade the cone, and fixed the bobbin that was out of round along the edge of the by shaving a 1/8 inch off.The clamp was too small. Given the size and weight of the ball winder base the clamping block could not it down. The only reason I did not return it is a tried a different clamp and dented the wood.Had the cone been a proper size and the bobbin endge was not out of round preventing it from spinning properly, thid would have been a home run! The finish is beautiful the wood is smooth and the hardware good quality. This item shows a lack of quality control for this company.

Could be better, but decent for price and shipping... I guess.
Well... The winder itself looks awesome. The pieces came unassembled in the box with no instructions or manual to put it together. It has several large pieces that I was able to place just by looking at photos but I feel many people will be turned off by lack of information. The metal piece of mine that secures it to the table was soon badly painted that the threads of the screw and the piece itself are rendered unusable. It is now a project to fix as opposed to being ready to use right away.

Doesn't stay stable
Clamp keeps coming offTurning wheel is hard to use as it's on the left and being a right handed is strange and not comfortable to useAlso as your turning the wheel the whole tings bounces all over the placeSeems like it's set up for a left handed person

Not sure how I got it to work but I did!
I thought the winder looked great but as you can see from the pictures on first three attempts it didn't wind yarn into a usable cake. The yarn was slumped to one side. The clamp is very poor, the whole thing slips around and loosens very quickly. So I tried to loosen the central screw which is the main turning mechanism for the ball holder and repositioned it. It needs to have a bit of a "jiggle" to successfully cake the yarn. I don't know what made the difference but it worked. The item came with no instructions. I'm not terrified to move it from its current position in case I can't get it to work again. Given this item 5 stars on the assumption it'll continue to work.

Great doorstop
I just received the ball winder I ordered through Amazon. I bought it for a gift for a friend going through a tough time. I wanted to send her something special. I decided to test it out before I sent it. I'm very glad I did. I does not work. It's action works then it doesn't. I had yarn on my swift and fed it to the ball winder and it would work then with any tension at all it would not. I worked on it trying to make it work for over an hour and finally gave up.It is a beautiful doorstop. I thought I would let you know before I place a review online. Maybe there is something I can do. But truly I tried for quite some time. Anyway. Take care. I just thought you should know.Error IconAddress not foundYour message wasn't delivered to [email protected] because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive
