Emerald Darkness (The Shadow Demons Saga Book 7)

Going in to this book I had only read Sarra Cannons Sacrifice Me serial, which, by the way, was superb. Emerald Darkness followed a group of friends from Cannon’s YA series, Her Peachville Demons series. There is a question I want to answer right off the bat, Can this be read without Peachville? Yes, but now that I have finished reading Emerald Darkness I want to go back and read the other series. Although, this can be read without the other books I highly recommend reading the Peachville series first. The book is told in first person from the point of view of four character, Harper, Lea, Jackson, and Aerden. I would say the first twenty percent of the book explains the world and how we got to where we are. Sarra did a wonderful job of making this part of the book flow and keeping readers engaged. Often times I find myself going, “Ugh back story.” But, in this case I found the writing so engaging that it was an easy read. This book was so full of non-stop action I found myself holding a breath and not letting it out until the book was over.For me the real star of the book was Lea. I fell in love with her from moment one. She was in so much pain at the start that you wanted it to ebb for her. There was a moment when you thought that her heart would heal but it was left unanswered. The story of Jackson and Harper did not disappoint in the slightest. They have such a tender love it’s almost picturesque to watch.Overall, the book was beautifully written. Sarra built a world and we are all just visiting. The book not only ends on one cliff-hanger but two! Though I will be in agony waiting for book two I still utterly loved this read. Five stars for sure.

this was the most frightening of all of the books of yours that I have read! the struggle to protect loved ones, family or friends from theEmerald priestess and her soldiers kept my stomach in knots. Your description made me feel like part of the story. I kept hoping I would find someone who had disappeared along the way In a new part of the book. The death of Zara made me fill as though I had lost someone dear to Me. Thanks to some further info we all may be surprised by her actual condition. I hope. Thank you again for your great story telling skills! in my life I deal with conditions that my Dear Husband of 47 years this most recent April 20th has. He has great doctors. his conditions can not be cured but he can continue to live with them for now. I Sympathized withZara's loved ones in th same way. Jackson and Harper are so strong for their loved one and hold out hope they will be reunited eventually. Jackson, having searched for so long for his brother and having guilt in his heart for his part in the secret he held from him suffered during their time together. If you have not read the series of Peachville, you need to. I highly recommend all of the books!! I've been anxiously awaiting this book and when I got it, it took a few days, before I was able to sit down and read. Like all her books, they grab you from the start. This one is no different. It moves along smoothly and unlike other authors with series of books, she does not keep repeating herself. For example: When Harper and Jackson come up, she doesn't backtrack and explain how they met and all the happenings to make up for a chapter. If that makes sense. She will touch on it, maybe a few sentences and go on. I won't say how the book ended, so as to not spoil it for anyone else, who's not read it. I was on my porch, swinging, having a cup of coffee, when I finished and I said out loud, OMG!!! NOooooo, you cannot end this like this!!! LOL. I am very anxiously awaiting for the second in this series. Sarra stays very in touch with her fans and readers. She is not bashful about replying to your comments on Facebook. She's a one in a million author!!! I love her style!

Sarra, all I can say is that you've done it again. A masterpiece! The way you are able to draw out your readers emotions, whether it's anger, laughter, sadness, is....I have no words. I didn't think I could fall more in love with your writing, but again, you have proven me wrong. Great job.I feel for Harper, to have such great burdens placed on such small shoulders. The love she has for her family and friends. How she always puts them first is something to behold. I also feel Leas pain. Aerden, I hope he opens up soon, cause it's only holding him back n making him suffer more. Having Rend, Frankie, and the crew from venom, make an entrance was a pleasure. I didn't think there'd be losses but sometimes the author has to go there.Sarra, you have stepped your game up n I love it. Can't wait for the next book in the series. A die hard fan :)PS...That ending, though. I just can't......

Four Jewel demons gates, one down and three to go. Will Harper and Jackson be able to destroy the emerald gate or will the high priestess of emerald gate destroy her and all the demons and witches? Great story.

I love me some Sarra! Her books are magic and Emerald Darkness is no exception! It's phenomenal! FINALLY!! The Peachville high gang is back!! heh I have been chomping at the bits over here! I SO enjoyed being wrapped up their insanely crazy world! Where SO many mysterious things take place! As with every book Sarra writes, I enjoyed the characters! I was delighted that Sarra used different points of view in this book, it kept me on the edge of my sit with each ending chapter!! The flow of the book was perfect and the fight scenes were EPIC! It's quite obvious and exciting, things are about to go down in the next book! To sum it up.. Emerald Darkness was wonderfully riveting and left me wanting MORE!! If you are on the fence about buying this book, just. do. it.

There's so much happening in the books and series. Most of it is a Tracey and it's sad but I enjoying reading these book. All of the characters go through so much, especially harper and Jackson. Hopefully they will save Harper and get her memories back and take out the emerald priestess. Look out witches Jackson is coming for you
