Lonely Planet Indonesia (Travel Guide) Paperback – November 23, 2021

I’ve always been a fan of their book and purchased this for Indonesia. Lots of information and I love the pre-planned itineraries you can follow if you don’t know what to do. Plus the maps help tremendously when you don’t have WiFi.

I bought this and a couple of other books on Indonesia as I'll be traveling there in a few months. This book outshines the others with the amount of information and tips. I've learned what to expect and how to act respectfully at shrines and other areas of interest. Would definitely recommend it.

Huge amount of information about a vast and diverse island nation. This has it all: history, geography, culture, top places to visit. That said, format is not the easiest to use, thus deducted one star. Best guide I was able to find and covers more than I need. Recommend you buy it!

I’m enjoying reading this travel book as I decide whether to go snd where to visit. I travel a lot and always get the Lonely Planet. They don’t let me down!

Much of the guide is still relevant but most of the section on Central Java (and Yogyakarta) is simply incorrect. No mention of the actual airport that started operating a year before the guide was published and opening hours of museums are way off. I recommend waiting for a new version before purchasing.

We have used Lonely Planet guides all over the world for years. This isn't one of the good ones. It's confusing and hard to follow. Frequently reference points (towns, islands, etc.) can't be found anywhere else in the book. Some of the recommendations are very out of date. It has 14 authors and It is definitely "put together by a committee". We have an older edition and the new one is virtually identical and not updated. We were disappointed
