Vienna Beef - Smoked Beef Stix (5Lbs)

I read some of the reviews that wrote of receiving moldy or bland tasting products. As far as the prior, it can happen that a batch goes bad. But, that's more a shipping issue, not a production. As far as the later; These are salami sticks, not pepperoni (or some other flavor), they should taste like good old fashion European dry salami. And that they do. There's a meaty/fatty taste, with just enough hints of spices to make them taste like salami should. (And there is no salty/metallic after taste...like too many have. It's a good blend of spices.) They are a carnivore's snack.I'm taking though one star away because of pricing. As far as a bulk shipment price, they are only slightly better than what a grocery store offers for a 3-stick pack.Lastly, in this page's advertising, it is stated that they are shelf-stable. Yes...and no. They're at about on par with butter. A week or two outside of a fridge isn't going to hurt them any. But, like all cured or smoked meats, they will dry out. Yet, at the same token, too much moisture (like a fridge) is also not good for them. I divided mine up into weekly portions, then froze all but one. Thus, the last one will taste just as good as the first one.

Of course I love these sticks. The last order was better… that’s why 4 stars instead of 5. These were not as firm as the last time. I’llOrder them again. I’m addicted!

I have been buying these three years. Generally three distributor when I lived in St. Louis. Glad to see that they were available online through Amazon. They are delicious kosher style salami, beef sticks. Definitely a great product.

Would prefer a spicy stick

Very great tasting beef stick

Ok, I’ve ordered these several times, & the consistency varies from the moist & delicious to my last batch, which are dry & exude grease. I thought I found a good brand, but they are just too hit or miss.Update: I’m increasing from 3 stars to 5. I reached out to Vienna Beefs customer service & they made it right. I even chatted wit Thea get & or shared love of these. I wish they’d add teriyaki , but the flavor is pretty good.Now if they can explain why 2 2.5 lbs cost less than 1 5 lb package, they’d be even better. I’m diabetic, & I snack on meat sticks a lot, as they’re low carb. I ordered 11 times in the last year. Yes 2.5lbs a month. These are consistently better than the other brands. I’ve tried. Texture is pretty good, although the wrapper can be a little dry. Shelf stable, but I put mine in a plastic jar in my fridge. As I said in my initial review, consistency isn’t the same from batch to batch, but it’s a natural product which explains the issue.

A great product. Casing could be a little crispier. Has a great flavor but a bit salty. Have ordered several times and have never been disappointed. Fast shipping.
