Alexa has to be plugged in all the time
Alexa Echo is an amazing device, the sound quality is awesome.... the only drawback i felt is that the device has to be continuously plugged into a power socket. I live in a place where there are frequent power cuts, and unless the device comes with a battery charge as well, it is of no use to me. The only reason that I am returning .

Alexa sometimes does not respond
Alexa was working Ok for some months. Now Alexa repeats my command but does not give the music. It is frustrating. Sometimes it gives some other music in response to my command.

Sound good for 4000, never buy it for more than 5k
Extremely good speaker for 4k, the real problem is the amazon and Alexa part,Alexa part: it's non granular control makes using it extremely annoyingeg: when connecting to bluetooth it will yell at you even after setting Alexa to be brief, we cannot control Alexa's volume with phone when using bluetooth like other bluetooth speakers. If you want to actually enjoy music without bluetooth, better have amazon prime subscription as only amazon music works perfectly with Echo.Alexa is not a good assistant, I said turn on LED, it will confirm like an animal "did you mean LED?" ,It never continues conversation.example: I say 'turn on LED', it said "you mean LED?", I say: 'Yes', *turns led on*, I say 'increase brightness', it says 'did you mean LED?'. well th, where is smart assistant? (this happens even when follow up is turned on)I know there are routines and voice activated automations but when I reconnect same bulb, I have to set all the automations again.now the worst part, Amazon Part: They added tap to pause then removed it for echo dot 5th gen, voice recognition is getting bad each day somehow. They will try their best to suppress this review. As per their last move only the new model will get updated (even if they decide to fix this).I dream they integrate AirPlay someday.( both Apple and Amazon)Its a good speaker, its anything but smart

Have a Love/Hate relationship with Alexa 🦦
It’s a good start but has some growing up to do.What do I use it for…. well, this is what I thought I would use it for.Full home automation, just like in Minority Report. You walk through your front door and say “I’m home” and Alexa does the rest: turns on the lights, starts my ‘welcome home’ playlist, makes me a coffee etc.All of this is possible, but unless you have the supporting (and usually expensive) infrastructure around you, you can’t do it. I have some wifi light switches from Lightwave RF, which work really well but have a horrible iOS interface. Alexa can control these but the fact is, I don’t need it to. I use these switches just to turn some lights on at dusk and off at dawn so just leave it to do its thing.“Alexa, what have I got on tomorrow?” Should work right? Well, it sort of does and doesn’t. I use a corporate GCal calendar and some sort of restriction there means that the full details of each event will not pass to Alexa, so the answer you get is: “You have an event at 9am, and an event at 2pm and an event at 4:30pm”. Not very useful. OK this is not Alexa’s fault, but it means that this feature has no value to me.It’s good for setting a timer when cooking, but I have an oven and a hob each with their own timers. So really it’s useful if I happen to need three timers at once.I use it to convert units all the time - “What is 166F in Celsius?” Useful when cooking from a recipe (or brewing beer).OK - so the best thing it does - the thing that gives me my Minority Report moment, is waling in to my bedroom and saying “Alexa, play me some Miles Davis” and she does. But I wish she would just play it without the fussy announcement…“OK, shuffling tracks from the artist, Miles Davis”.She tells good clean jokes that the kids love and I’ve never hear the same one twice. So what’s next for me? Well, I’m planning on getting a smart home heating system, something like Honeywell’s Evohome (Nest is too basic). It’s Alexa compatible, but right now you can only perform the most basic functions via Alexa. I’m getting it anyway, not just because of Alexa so I’ll see how that goes.In summary, it’s a good start and I’m hopeful for more intelligence and open compatibility in the future. Apple’s Homekit seems miles away, which is a shame as we are predominantly an Apple household, and some of Siri’s capabilities seem more powerful than Alexa. Example - “Alexa, remind me to sign Harry’s school report tomorrow at 8am”.Alexa: “OK, I’ll add ‘sign Harry’s school report’ to your to do list”. No reminder is set.Siri sets a reminder and notifies me at the required time.

Top quality sound and voice recognition
Device is top class and totally satisfied. However, the power adaptor malfunctioned and amazon replaced the device + adaptor as per warranty terms. Amazon should ensure the durability of adaptor so that it doesn't conks off.

Good sound
The size of this speaker is large compared to the other models in this segment. It sounds amazing there is a sense of warmth in the audio, depending on what you like to listen to there is an equaliser setting on the app which can adapt to your preference of music. The audio makes a big difference depending on which area of the room the speaker is positioned. But at no point did I feel the bass mids and lows were lacking.
