1-2256B-02 Total Alkalinity Increaser for Swimming Pools, 20 lb

I do not know why this product, Sodium Bicarbonate by Pool Mate, did not perform. I have been a pool owner for nearly forty years and do my own pool service, including occasionally raising the pool pH. I purchased a new test kit just in case it was giving me a bad reading...but it was the same reading I got from the older kit. Now I need to buy another alkalinity increaser pH from another manufacturer. This year (2021) has been a crazy year for getting pool chemicals.

I have to dump two or three times as much of this product into my pool to get the pH to the right level compared to other soda ash (sodium carbonate) products I have bought from other companies. This product seems diluted and/or not very effective.

I was told by Leslie guy that I needed to increase the alkalinity of my pool water, their chemicals are so expensive so I got it from Amazon. Did the job right. I got an open box but still ok.

Gee. Thanks Amazon. Anyone in QC please tell your workers to use some common sense?

The bicarbonate showed in two days, all nice powder with no clumps or chunks. Met all expectations and as advertised.
