Highly Enjoyable
This certainly is romance with a twist!Martha, our heroine from the 21st century, goes for a countryside walk, takes a fall and ends up in medieval England. A tall dark stranger finds her and takes her to a cave and cares for her.Martha cannot come to terms with the fact that she has time travelled and now her very existence depends on the help of this man.Martha is the epitome of the modern woman of her time - strongly independent, self reliant and opinionated. Her saviour promises to try and reunite her with her world in the Spring but now winter is upon them and he needs to move back to his village........ But first he has to transform Martha into his wife to offer her acceptance and safety in the village. The stranger has no idea what he has taken on with this woman. Young, gutsy and not afraid to speak her mind she proves to be more than he bargained for.The interplay between Martha and Vladim is highly entertaining. The frustration is always there between them but there is a very sparky attraction too. She coping with the day to day living amongst the medieval community in the village, discovering the real fragility of their existence. Vladim, strong and powerful, leader of a group of 'wanted bandits' and pursued by the evil Earl. This book beautifully describes the daily lives of the villagers, living very much hand to mouth, working the land in accordance with the seasons, but always living in fear of attack.Martha and Vladim' s relationship is a testing one. He does not understand her ways and thinking and she certainly is battling to come to terms with his. A true love hate scenario at its very best.A great and very enjoyable read!

Good but...
I'm watching Outlanders at the moment, which is probably why this book seemed so familiar. I know Gabaldon's books created a whole sub-genre of time travelling to Scotland, but this one was just a little to close to the original. Of course, there are differences, and I know this is a sidestep into a alternate reality rather than back in time. And I loved the little hint of that when our heroine exclaims, little baby Jesus! (or something like that) and the hero has never heard of any such baby. So you just know you haven't gone back in time- on our timeline anyway. And the book is well written and enjoyable, if a little slow. So it deserves 4 stars. But it ends on a cliff hanger,(and I hate them) and I'm just not willing to make my way through another long book to hopefully, but maybe not, get my HEA.

Disappointed
This could have been a great read had the author not turned it into a fairy tale. Why would a 21st century women just accept that she finds herself travelled into the past. Not to say anything about the big wild looking man who finds and undressed her...... was this book suppose to be humorous? And as for the attempt of unbridled sex where he released his " seed" into her was hilarious. The story line could have been written better and more memorable. I might read the next book but without any expectations of it being any better but you never know, maybe she got the hang of writing now....

A well written story
I wasnt sure what to expect, and I was concerned it would be trying to duplicate other similar time travel stories, however I was pleasantly surprised. I felt the story wasn't too dark or heavy, but neither did it lack depth and I was pleased to find a fair bit of humour with the story too. I enjoyed her style of writing, she sets a scene really well. All in all it was a great story which I enjoyed. My only real criticism is that the story felt like half a story, you have to get the second book to really get the answers and I really feel the two stories should be contained within the same novel as there is no obvious break. I think the cliffhanger ending is to encourage you to buy the second book.

Amazing, loved ever page!
Devoured it in one day. This book is amazing, if you vaguely like time travel books, historic books, reworking of fairy tales, romances you have to read this book. I got this book free on amazon and thought I would give it a try and I have loved every page.I loved the way in which our very 21st century girl adapts to the medieval life in which she has fallen into. I loved the way that secrets have to prised out of the charters and the part our main charters have to play to be accepted. I also enjoyed how Martha tries to made things better and be the strong independent woman she was in the 21st century, however cliff-hanger was evil but the next book doesn't take too long to download :)

Tales of a traveller
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story , I don’t read because of dyslexia and adhd . My wife got me into listening to stories and I am proud to say that I have listened to over fifty books . I really enjoyed this book as it is about time travel and history . I can’t wait to get the second book in the series, so I can continue with the tale .

Enjoyable
I really enjoyed this book, actually made me chuckle out loud on quite a few occasions, however, I don't know where the part was, when she told the main character that she was from the future, and I would have liked to know what her occupation was before she went back in time, this is what stopped me giving 5 stars, but definitely going to read book 2

Easy read page turner
The book was easy to read and kept you engaged with the story, unfortunately the author leaves you hanging at the end to encourage you to read additional books in the series.
