The Book of Genesis: Firstfruits (The Passion Translation)

Passion translation is an appealing read of scriptures but not in the traditional way. I liked that a lot. You can also find individual books of the Bible and focused just one, in the case “Genesis”, for example. It is the style of writing as if personally singular speaking to the reader, drawing you in. You will learn and glean an understanding because how it is written in such a flowing style, in the verses that you will always reread and add it to your daily devotion studies. Recommend adding this to your daily Bible study

I absolutely love The Passion Translation! To be able to read the writings in Genesis and also the detailed notations at the bottom of each page has been tremendously helpful and insightful. I will re-read it in the future. Since then I’ve ordered and have started reading the New Testament second edition with Psalms, Proverbs and Songs of Solomon. I’m looking forward to reading the whole bible in The Passion Translation!

I have the Passion Translation New Testament and like it so thought I would try this. I hadn't read Genesis in quite some time and found this translation fresh and engaging, with informative footnotes. Where there are differences in Hebrew and Aramaic translations it gives you both, along with cultural explanations that enrich your understanding. Well done.

I already had the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs. Was excited to see Genesis! Can't wait for the full bible! I love the language choices used AND all of the footnotes that explain the original language and why he chose the English wording that he did in this translation. See and hear how from the beginning God showered His eternal love on us all. But even more learn the times and the context through the extensive footnotes. I pray that God enlightens your heart and mind through this wonderful work. Not just history but His-Story

Brian Simmons writes the best footnotes. The loving-kindness of God and His plan to redeem His most precious creation shines through in this paraphrase from the heart of God. Use it next to your NASB. I can't wait for the rest of the Old Testament. Isaiah is amazing.

This translation flows and is so rich. It’s easy to understand and to get caught up in the Word. Excellent.

Love his insight. I read it more like a commentary and I check out any “point” he’s making, to make sure it’s not off. I haven’t come across anything that would make me think he has an “agenda” I would refrain from reading it, if you haven’t read the Bible yet.

This is an easy to understand translation and the many notes are very useful and thought provoking. Great for a new Christian or anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the bible.
