Keeps you riveted
Another good legal thriller that is hard to put down. I am really enjoying this series and buy one after the other. I enjoy the side stories and cases. Pratt is a good solid writer and has perfect editing. The only thing that I dislike is that there are so few honest people in his criminal justice system. He is almost the only one in the state of Tennessee.

Rock and roll storytelling
The very best version of me is one of his characters. As long as I’m one of the good guys! This is another story with momentum and ‘verve’ - a thrilling read that calls out the politicians and the cowards who make life harder for everyone.

Great story
Lot of twists and turns, especially when it comes to the tactics of crooked politicians, and Columbian drug cartel. Keeps the reader's interest to the end. These stories could become a great television series.

They even manage a happy ending, which may not mirror real life cases
Scott Pratt has created a larger than life figure in Joe Dillard and the action gets one totally involved. His legal situations and arguments seem very real to the lay person and with cleverly contrived but not overdone emotion. They even manage a happy ending, which may not mirror real life cases.

Not a good story.
Having read the previous Joe Dillard books I looked forward to Reasonable Fear, however, I was disappointed in this book. Firstly the District Attorney (Dillard) went from lawyer to Rambo. He put on his combat gear got a load of ammunition from a "friend" and went to kill 5 Columbian hitmen. The main villain Lipscombe was despatched by a madam from the local brothel. How she did it was never explained, where she did it or who actually committed the act of killing him. A very unbelievable tale from Scott Pratt. I will not be reading any more from this author. Joe Dillard has gone from likeable lawyer who does only good things, to the violent unlikeable character.
