The Gone Trilogy

suspense
All three books packaged as a set is a great way to read the series. It is not stand alone stories but a cliffhanger continuation. Each book is fast paced with twist turns and page turning suspense.

The Gone Trilogy
It has been six years since I read this boxset and before I realized readers can leave reviews, so I don't remember much about it. The set as a whole was good and I enjoyed reading it. The entire story takes three books to find out how it ends. So there are cliffhangers, which I do not like. I would never have read these books individually without this boxset because of the cliffhangers. Unlike a lot of the other readers, I know these books are fiction, created entirely in the author's imagination. This held my interest and I could handle the characters. But I don't like the fact it takes three books to tell the story. I was taught in school one book has a beginning, middle and end. As a whole, the boxset was good and held my interest.

Extraordinary brilliant work
A book EVERY parent, and young girl or boy, should read. We live in an ungodly and sick world. See what happens to your child if they get abducted and read what the effects on you, as a parent will be. Never, ever ignore your child, take them for granted and NEVER, EVER let them out of your sight for one moment. Especially in supermarkets or in parks. It only takes a second and they're gone. Taken.Thank you to the author for a brilliant piece of work. A bit of a tear jerker towards the end. As a man I don't like to cry but one can't help it. I won't tell you why. Read it for yourselve and be warned and aware.

Great book Hard to Put Down, Every Parent's Nightmare!
This book was very well written and a great read! Reading Macy's journey from beginning to end was heartbreaking and terrifying at the same time. I did have some issues with some of the filler in the book. There are some things I feel could have been left out of the book towards the end that would not have effected the story in any way. I wont go into details as not to give anything away. It does touch on every parents nightmare of their child being kidnapped by a madman and I like how the author shows the parents perspective while telling the story from Macy's perspective at the same time. I do feel the whole Zoey/Alex story was a little far fetched only because of the age difference, most girls of 14-15 wouldn't date a 12-13 year old. That is just my experience as a mother of 3 girls and also working in a school, that normally does not happen. All in all I also feel this could have been one book and not broken up into a trilogy, could have gotten away with maybe 2 parts if the author felt it was too long for one book. I wish she would have took a little more time with the ending also it seemed almost like a let down, ( again I don't want to give anything away) All in all I do recommend this book as it is hard to put down and is a very good book.

Too much trivial detail, no suspense
I've read comic books that had more depth and nuanced characters. The author spends too much time on scenes that should take a page or less. I don't need to be told a character takes out the milk and cereal and sits down at the table and puts cereal in the bowl and then puts milk on the cereal. That whole scene could be relegated to two words: "After breakfast..." and then get on with the story. Too many scenes like that. Lots of errors, as well, that any competent editor should have caught.I began to wonder, about halfway through, whether this was written by a teenager with little worldly experience.Macy seems determined not to escape her kidnapper, whose reason for taking her is completely bizarre and nonsensical. She has numerous chances to get away, often just by speaking up at the right time, and somehow screws up every one of them. The side story about the relationship between her brother, who is a child, and her best friend is super cringe-worthy. But hey, whatever they do is okay! Their relationship, along with every other bad decision in this incredibly dysfunctional family, is totally fine. Thank goodness none of them have to worry about any consequences whatsoever or make any unselfish decisions. Out here in the real world, things don't go as smoothly.

Great Series; Lousy Editing
I absolutely loved reading this trilogy! But let me start off with why only four stars. The set needs a strong amount of editing. Missing words, misspelled words. If a reader finds them, then why not the editor or author? An otherwise great storyline that's not properly edited is one of my biggest pet peeves. Authors: please don't do that to your (paying) audience!I became engrossed in the series from page one. Poor Macy, at only 15 and not allowed to date yet, sneaks out of the house to meet Jared. Only she quickly finds out Jared isn't who she thinks he is. Thus begins her nightmare. And her family and the police think she's run away. They keep thinking she'll return but soon they must face a parent's worst nightmare: kidnapping. The author did a great job of building the characters. I found myself thinking about them even when I wasn't reading. The storyline was also well done. Maybe one too many attempts at escaping, only to be pulled back in. And one or two other slightly implausible events, but nothing so outrageous as to make the book completely unbelievable. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author!

Kept me on my toes
A gripping thriller which I found difficult to put down. The 3 books read more as 1 book split into 3 parts.
