The best line I've used
I have a few acres with hills in a county that has a weed abatement mandate. My Stihl string trimmer is essential for this property. Hundreds of hours and dozens of different lines. In the winter I can use up some of the weaker lines on the soft wet vegetation, but when it warms up this is the only line I use. The mustard gets hard and eats all the other lines. This is the only line I can use around the wire fences and on the weeds that come up through the asphalt. If you have tough weeds, this is the only line to get.

Worth it
Best line out there, hands down. I used to always buy one pound spools at the big box store so happy I decided to finally just buy a quality big spool. Works well out of a FS131 with cheap Amazon/chinese replacement head.

Your trimmer is not good enough for this line. BEST LINE I HAVE USED SO FAR!
What it will do: Will cut grass. Will cut woody weeds. Will cut pricky vines. Will break glass. Will throw little rocks and stones uncomfortably far. (Seriously, this will send rocks up to a half inch into your neighbors car.)What it will not do: Will not cut trees. It also will not break itself when it grabs trees. It will stop your trimmer head. Will not cut wimpy grass. There is a bit of wind created by this line and it will blow wispy grass out of the way. This is great because it blows the clippings away but there were a few spots where I had to get really close to the ground to get it to actually cut and it almost looks scalped. This does not matter to me because I live in the middle of nowhere and the only people that see these areas are me, my family, the postal workers, and my Amazon delivery drivers. What you should put it on: A trimmer that has real power. This is not for your tiny Walmart weed eater. If you have an electric one move on, nothing for you here. Put it on something tough or get wimpier line.I have a Husqvarna 525RX trimmer/brush cutter. It is my first serious cutter designed for a land owner. Previously I just used Walmart cheapys because I thought they were all the same. My trimmer came with some pretty decent line but I used it up. I threw on some orange line I got at a box store that was labelled "homeowner." Well, I own a home.... on 20 wooded acres in the middle of nowhere. How bad could it be? My trimmer ate that line. It broke it or made it weld to itself inside the spool anytime I got it hooked on a little branch or something. I spent 20 minutes working with it and gave up. I came in and ordered this GatorLine.I spooled it up today and had a go at it. WOW! Just wow. Shredding some thick nasty stuff that my other string would not touch. It is fast and strong. Well worth the money. The only thing I noticed was that my trimmer took a little bit longer to get up to speed. It was the first string that could bog down my trimmer in heavy stuff. When I say heavy stuff I am not talking about grass. I am talking about stuff I should be using a brush blade on. We are talking sapling bushes, mixed with vines, and real jungle looking stuff. I got hooked on some hidden branches and stuff but it never jammed in the spool and I was able to get it to feed when I needed to, which was not often because this line wears slow. Over a 20 minute period of cutting woody/brushy stuff at full throttle I bump fed it twice.I am considering spooling my spare cheapy trimmer with this line just to see the difference. If I do, I will make an update.

Hard to feed thru Stihl Autocut 25-2 eyelets
Initially, I gave this product a harsh review, saying it broke to easy. So I went back to my Cyclone line...then I realized both this product and the Cyclone last about the same amount. (We are more than 50% rock, so any 0.105" line goes quickly, I guess.) However, now I'm realizing the Cyclone's star shape is more prone to "fusing" itself in the cutting head than the square shape of the Oregon. So, even if I fight the square line a bit as I feed it through the cutting head eyelet, it might a better choice for me.

This is now going to be my only line for my professional line trimmer.
I recently bought a Stihl FS-131 line trimmer. I got the bump feed that holds about 25 feet for each line (total of 50 feet in the head). The line that came with it was terrible (0.095 Quiet Round orange). Anytime I hit a large, older blackberry vine (about ½" to 5/8" inch in diameter), the line snapped off at the eyelet. This meant I had to carry a screw driver to more easily remove the cover and dig the line out to reroute it back through the eyelet. This went on until the line was empty. I then replaced it with the Stihl x-line (0.095). The dealership said “Lots of people like the x-line.” It was slightly stronger to cut vines that were less than ½" but would still snap off if I slammed the full line length revved up to full speed. I finally decided the vines needed the brush blade and I went on to other projects like the concrete cracks. Same things happened with the line easily grinding down to the eyelet but at least it was not snapping off like the blackberry vines. I could stay ahead of it by feeding more line almost every weed. This proved to be frustrated until my shipment from Amazon with this Oregon 22-805 Gatorline Heavy-Duty Professional Magnum 0.105" Square String Trimmer Line. My real test was those blackberry vines. I expected that I would need to use the brush blade but thought this would be a good comparison. I went after the ½ inch thick vine first. I let out the line to its full length and full throttle. I eased it right up to the vine. Sometimes it would pop right through the vine, other times it just scuffed the surface but it never removed more than half of the line that was fed out. I then found that I could slam the full length into the vine at full RPM. I believe the force of the hit of the head and the line breaks the vine. I found this technique worked with the largest vines but may take up to 3 hits. Some of you may say I am abusing the tool. I am not really concerned with that if I can move on to my next project. For large areas I will use my brush blade or the tractor with the brush hog but when you are going through an area that has various weeds and grasses, this line is the perfect line to have. And, I went after the weeds in the concrete again. I was able to remove twice the amount before advancing line. I will admit that I am comparing 0.095 line to this 0.105. I would expect the 0.095 Oregon gastorline magnum square to also resist the breaking much better than the 0.095 lines that I had tried.

This transforms the performance of my strimmer
I chose the largest size trimmer line that met my trimmer’s specification. The durability is amazing even when tacking oversize vegetation. I really appreciate how this line has improved the performance. Vegetation used to “ball up” around the trimmer head but not with this line!!I would encourage the use of this line for any serious user of a trimmer.Mine is a Husqvarna 333R

Very powerful wire
Have a Stihl FS 130 weed eater and is .105 capable. The .105 square (kind of rectangular) wire from Oregon cut raspberry plants like they were grass. My FS 130 never worked like this. Was using Stihl .095 round wire and it was breaking all the time with very poor cutting power. The Stihl .095 star like (4 edges) wire was a little better but by far not as good as Oregon. The cutting power of Oregon .105 square wire is remarquable. Very very pleased with my purchase.

Better for my Stihl than genuine Stihl line
This product is the best, when I first bought my powerful Stihl brushcutter (1.7 kw) , the genuine Stihl line was terrible, it even damaged the line spool with melted line caked on it and I couldn't cut for more than a minute without breaking the line, it getting jammed or springing off the spool and then pulling itself into the spool, and also melting and fusing with itself what an absolute nightmare. I had to learn perfect cutting technique just to keep going a few minutes, the only good thing about that line - an education in how best not to screw up your line. Now, after just half an hour of using this new line, I realised I didn't need perfect technique anymore, I could just swing the head around any which way I liked, it was completely idiot proof, no snaps, no fusing, no spring backs, no melting, nothing . Like chalk and cheese. 10 our of 10. One of the best products I have ever bought on Amazon and I usually cant be bothered writing reviews.

vicious!
this string rips through thick and tough to cut weeds, even small saplings, when used on a good trimmer, i use this on my stihl 130. its square shaped and has teflon in the middle for added strenth/durability. it wears slowly so youre not using as much string over the course of time
