Remember when a kitchen wasn’t just a room, but the heart of the home, humming with life and the promise of something delicious? Mine may be cramped, but it’s alive—bursting at the seams with herbs and spices, each jar a little memory of a meal shared, a moment savoured. And soon, a whole kilogram of garlic will join the family. Oh, the peace of mind that brings! No need to worry about vampires then, indeed. As I've always believed, and as I shared in my reflections on Idahoan garlic mash, "Garlic is a powerful ally in the kitchen that demands respect and thoughtful consideration. You cannot simply cast it into your creation without intention—rather, introduce it gradually, layering it carefully through your dish so its fierce nature mellows and becomes part of something greater." These days, my body aches in ways it never used to, a constant reminder of time's passage. But the joy of cooking? That spark remains, even if my appetite has become a faint, wistful echo of what it once was. A true pity. Yet, I still find my greatest pleasure in crafting my own versions of mashed spud—more adventurous, more soulful than any store-bought packet could ever dream of being. Because I live in that gentle realm of 'food that slides down easy', where comfort is the only ingredient that truly matters. And oh, what a blessing to have my son! He's inherited the hunger I've lost, and so my kitchen is never still. A full range of meals, hearty and whole, still march out from my stovetop, destined for his eager table. It keeps the flame alive. If only these four walls were more forgiving, I'd have turned a spare room into my own glorious apothecary—a haven of scents. But alas, space is a luxury I don't possess. And while the wondrous smell of fresh herbs/spices fills this little home, I've come to accept a bittersweet truth: that particular magic, the one that calls an appetite back from the past, is a secret that will forever remain lost to me.

Huge bag offering great value for money. Flavour and aroma excellent. Provided they are stored in an air-tight container, they should last a long time.

The smell of this when you open the bag is amazing and could literally eat this by the spoonful! Always loved oregano anyway but this is something else! Just like the taste you get on food when you eat out in the Mediterranean. Very large bag though so it's a good job I love it!
