Pool Mate 572040R Sandstone Winter Pool Cover for In-Ground Swimming Pools, 20 x 40-ft. In-Ground Pool

I bought this 16x32 foot cover for my inground pool along with almost $300 of water tubes and a pool cover pump in Sept 2020. I covered my pool at the end of the season and pumped the water off the top weekly until winter set in. Well, come March and the thaw the cover had lost 6 of its straps that you secure it with using the water tubes. They just ripped right off. I had only dropped the water in the pool a foot and a half for the winter so it's not like there was tremendous stress on those straps.I went to submit my warranty claim only to find you need to register your warranty with them within 30 days of purchasing. I now have a new camping tarp I guess.

For 23 years we had an expensive mesh cover for our inground pool, complete with a strap system that went into the concrete. It was a top of the line cover that degraded over time. But even when it was in decent shape my pool was ALWAYS DIRTY in the spring, filthy dirty in fact! It would take two weeks to clean and filter that pool, TONS of chemicals to get it balanced, etc. I would have to take out the filter grids a couple of times and clean them of the filth and algae. It was nuts.Last year my husband finally talked me into throwing that old cover out and we bought this pool cover because economically we didn't have the funds to buy a system similar to our old expensive one. THANK GOODNESS we didn't waste the money!! This cover system is PERFECT!!! We opened the pool today after the first winter with this cover and we were shocked - literally shocked!! The pool water was picture perfect, just like it was the day we closed it. We literally could swim in it today. It's mind blowing.Don't hesitate to buy this cover. It lasted through the winter just fine. We bought a submersible pump that we used to remove any water from the top of the cover whenever it built up over the winter, and that was simple as well. This cover saved me more time and money and effort than I can adequately explain. GREAT value. Thank you!

Ordered this cover in May 2020 after noticing my old cover had several tears in it when I opened my pool for the 2020 season. Delivery was fine. Most people would not open the new cover box until they where going to install it. Covered my pool September 18th, 2020. After opening the box for the new cover, I noticed that the included warranty documents stated that the warranty was not valid unless submitted within thirty days of purchase date. This was not stated on the Amazon product information page when I ordered it. The product looks to be fine at this point, but good luck with a warranty claim if it develops problems at a later date.

This cover is lightweight and solid as described, but does not have eyelets along the edges as shown in the installation guide. Installing the cover would be impossible for an above the ground pool and much less secure for an in-ground pool, relying only on water tubes. By the time it was noticed that there were eyelets at only the 4 corners, the cover was unfolded and installed over the pool making it all but impossible to repackage and return. I'll now have to find another way to secure (which will likely not be as effective and shorten the life of the cover) the cover to my pool which is subject to strong winds and where water tubes alone are insufficient. The alternative will be constantly readjusting the cover and water tubes after windy conditions or risking the cover and having debris on top of the cover in the pool. Very disappointing, I would not recommend this cover

Bought this cover because it had a 12 year warranty. After only less than 1 1/2 years, the cover began sinking into the pool. I found that the material had small holes everywhere. I asked for help with the warranty and was told that the warranty only covered separation on the seams and not my issue. I was sent an offer to purchase another cover in the wrong color for $75.00. That is not the warranty I thought I received when I made the purchase.
