Plastic pins fail over time
Worked for 3-4 years, then the plastic pins holding the heatsink shot off. It broke the tempered glass in my server. I ended up having to replace my motherboard during that incident too. Spent a lot of money on replacing parts only to see the raid controller itself die today due to the heat sink no longer being pinned to the board.
