Sparco Electric Punch, 30 Sheet Capacity, 1/4-Inch Diameter, 17 3/4 x 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 Inches, GY (SPR96003)

I have used this for a couple of months. I really like it. I have not tried 30 sheets but have tried about 20 sheets. The button controls are kind of funny. You have to hold the button down for a few seconds before it starts to work. Sometimes, it will get stuck and you have to push the button so that it will release the paper. I find this to be a little annoying but it's not too bad. I only find this to happen when I put larger amounts of paper in the machine. Also, once I just place my paper in the machine and it punched holes without me even pushing the button. I don't know if it has an automatic feature because I didn't read the manual. Overall, I am satisfied with this product because it was $100 cheaper than the one I really wanted and it still gets the job done.

I started in the mortgage industry 16 years ago and have been punching paper files ever since. Not long ago I punched my last when, pushing down through a particularly large stack, a sharp, burning pain shot through my wrist. That was it- my defining moment. Time to shop on Amazon again! After reading reviews (thank you to everyone who writes reviews- how would we choose without them??) it appeared that the only drawback to this unit was the supposed "noise." I went for it anyway and am happily surprised by the quality of this item. I have punched and punched and punched with this thing and it has never jammed- not even one time! Switching back and forth from 2 hole to 3 hole is a simple flick of a switch so I'm good for top punched and binder punched documents. When something works reliably well, who minds a little noise? I recommend this without question. Keep the waste tray empty and this should go for a long, long time.

Oh my goodness, great item, thanks, I needed this appreciate it, appreciate it, appreciate it, I am a student and wanted to keep my papers neat in a binder, this saves my strength and does just what I need.Update.I changed my review on the basis of functionally over time, I used this machine I'd approximate about 20 if thirty times, a few days after I received it, and afterwards, I put it up for later use. When I pulled it out to use it, I was so disappointed, because, it did not work. I had not really read the reviews where others warned of this, I was mainly caught up in the need to use and the price, but if you can afford one that will last over time, I would probably suggest wait to purchase it if money is not an issue, however, if you want something that is in your price range and only need it for a short term, however long that is, short term based on the machine functionality.

I am absolutely thrilled with my Sparco electric 3 hole puncher. I never knew how much I missed it until I came to a company where all holes were punched by hand. OMG, it was awful. I decided to take the bull by the horns, and buy the very needed electric hole punch all by myself. I did just that, and when it arrived, once again it made all the difference in my work. In my business, I have to punch holes in 40 page reports all of the time. To hand punch those papers, was an absolute nightmare. I cannot begin to tell anyone how much the Sparco Electric Hole Punch saved my life, my psyche, and hours of time that otherwise would have been spent punching one page at a time with the manual hole punch. My co workers are also thrilled, so please know that this was a win win purchase, and one of the best I have ever done. Thanks, Amazon and Sparco. You made my year !!

While I am happy to have the device, which is working quite well now, I must point out that there was one glaring issue concerning its initial use. I am not sure if this is standard practice with certain office equipment, but I found oil residue on the metal punches that would show itself on the paper that was being used. I had to use it a number of times on waste paper combined with tissue paper before the residue would stop showing. It took awhile before it was presentable. Overall, it is nice. It just needed not to be so greasy.

I bought this unit in March of 2012. It has been in steady service on my desk daily as I write and compile large proposals. The gray color is more of a sepia these days. But, it works very well. I doubt it is really ideal for 30 pages, but I use heavier paper and put 15-20+ in it routinely several times a day and it is still going. I am only looking because I want another one for a second office.

I can't believe that people said that it was a little noisy. I punched my first piece of paper and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo loud. It was only one piece of paper it didn't even have to work hard. I'm not sure the noise level is worth the savings on effort in hole punching.Since using this for a couple of weeks the loud noise has quited down greatly! I am now very pleased. So just don't give up on it like I did!!!

Go this as a cheaper alternative to replace my dead Swingline. This claims 30 sheets versus 20 on the Swingline. It does feel slightly more powerful, but I might just be imagining that. I never punch more than 15 sheets at a time anyway, because overfeeding is the easiest way to kill these things. The only reason it's not 5 stars for me is because it's much more noisy than the Swingline, which says something, as all these things are pretty loud, in my experience.
