My long (22 inches, mid-back) salt and pepper hair has been washed twice with this shampoo leaving it in for about 5 minutes; a week apart. I applied a good conditioner directly after each washing. Initially, my hair looked much darker after getting out of the shower with towel-dried damp hair. I was afraid it would stay like that. To my surprise, after brushing and allowing the hair to thoroughly dry, it went almost back to the normal salt and pepper before the shampooing. As a day or two passed without washing the hair, for those strands that were previously white or light gray, they became a brighter tone. The darker gray hairs went back to their original shade of gray. Overall, my hair is now much shinier, healthy looking and fuller/thick. It's soft to comb and brushing is easier. I like the look because the entire head of hair looks much more even in color. No more signs of any dishwater yellow are present. I'll use this product about every 3 weeks to keep the dullness away and the dry, straw-like appearance of my 73 year-old hair (normally untreated) in good condition. The picture is a couple of hours after shampooing. This was a good buy.

My hair was very dull and brassy and I stopped using shampoo for platinum hair. I decided to try this and the very first time I used it my hair was softer, shinier and the dullness and brassiness was already fading. In less than a week my hair was a healthy salt and pepper color and the silver really, really stood out and shined. My hair felt like silk. It is purple but does not stain the tile, hands or skin. The smell is good. I would HIGHLY recommend this and I will NEVER use anything else.
