True 1940-1970 Halter Pattern
Love this 1940-1970 halter pattern. My mom & her sisters wore these in the heat of the summer when relaxing, working around the house & sun bathing. I grew up wearing them too. I've looked for this pattern all my life & am so happy to find it. The pattern is easy to tailor it to fit. Button closure is traditional but it's easy to add other options & even make the halter from modern fabrics for a wide range of looks & fits.

Easy, but needs modifications
Edit:Modified the pattern and the end results looks great. The tops are easy to sew, and it's easy to fix if you make a mistake. Made these tops multiple times now and am happy with the pattern and instructions.The pattern itself is easy to follow, but the end result doesn't look like the picture. I made pattern D and it looks terrible. The center pieces are too close together, squishing the boobs in. If you're making pattern D, I suggest adding a couple of inches or it will look like you will look like you have a mono-boob. The darts don't lay flat and bubble up, no matter how much I pressed and tried. Maybe it's just not meant for top-heavy women...

I was a little disappointed on how some of the lines of the pattern were BADLY faded. We had to draw them in with a ruler and a little luck.

Needs better instructions, great pattern
Great patterns and good price. Simplicity does not include COMPLETE instructions. Yes there is some but not full explanation that your looking for if you are new to this project. Definitely had to other watch videos to explain what this had left out and lots of trial and error that could of been avoided. So having some knowledge of making clothing is recommended these are not very beginner friendly but other than that the patterns are great.

I altered this into a whole different thing and it was super easy to alter instead of drafting up my own pattern. Easy to follow instructions as well.
