14oz Aroy D Tom Yum Paste (Pack of 1)

All of the Aroy-d products I have tried have been excellent. Also making tom yum soup at home is dramatically cheaper then ordering from a restaurant that are now almost $30.00 for a order, and is pretty easy when using this paste. When ground beef is more expensive than scallops, or shrimp per pound I will clearly order the seafood. It is very inexpensive to make a really nice soup with this paste. I will also say I like adding fresh coconut milk, or canned coconut cream to the soup. The coconut cream gives the flavor of coconut plus the sweetness, and you can use it instead of palm sugar and coconut milk. You can also adjust the amount of coconut milk or cream to your taste. It can also cut the heat and how spicy so I will add chili crisp or chili oil because I like some heat, and can add it to my bowl so not to spicy for others. Once you try this if you like tom yum you will order it again.

This item is exactly as described and pictured. I really wanted a soup base for Tom Yum and had a hard time finding it in my town. So, to Amazon I searched and found this item! It is delicious and is exactly what I was looking for. Taste exactly like I imagined it would. It was affordable and the shipping time was reasonable. All you have to do is scoop some into some boiling water. Add your desired meats and vegetables and you are done! So easy to use.

The paste is delicious, and well balanced. I've found many uses for it. Unfortunately, the packaging is just terrible. Inside the tub is a fully filled sealed plastic bag, you have to cut a corner to open it, and then it leaks all over the tub because there isn't enough slack plastic to properly seal it again. A pour spout in the corner of the bag would work really well. I ended up pouring (most of) the paste into 2 freezer zip bags and froze one of them.

Very good stuff. Recommend. Would buy it again.

The flavor is balanced, and it has just the right heat level for me. A couple of minor points that I didn't like: it comes in a plastic bag inside a plastic tub, and when you squeeze it out of the bag you will likely end up with it all over your fingers. Also, it tasted thin when I followed the directions, so you may not get as many servings as are listed. I like to add lime juice and a little fish sauce to mine, and after doing that and upping the paste ratio was pretty good, so I will likely buy it again.
