Yes, your current Bimini is fine (or in desperate need of replacement) and you enjoy the exercise of unstrapping/bracing and carefully folding down your top to go under the bridge, culvert or for storage.BUT!Once you have a power Bimini top - “how is it possible you have lived without this boating accessory!?!”That’s the feeling.We have a pontoon full of people and when the need arises - no one has to do a thing but continue to have fun and relax. Just touch the button and let the sun shade do it’s thing.

I did not buy my top from Amazon, it came pre-installed on my Sun Tracker pontoon boat. First impressions are it is very flimsy and needs improvements. The top is supported by one pivot point on each side where the motors are located. From a mechanical perspective this is a poor design. To give it stability they supply two nylon straps to hold the front down. Every boater knows nylon straps resonate like crazy in the wind. At higher speeds the back supports bow up in a manor where it is trying to collapse the top. The canvas material is extremely thin. Leaving it exposed to the elements I suspect it won’t last more than a year or 2. The up/down control has no auto-stop. You can raise it beyond the up position breaking the gears/motors. I would not recommend this top.

Install was easy over all. Well built with good quality components. Wiring is tricky if you want to conceal in existing railings. It would have been nice to be pre-wired for stern navigation light. The toggle switch works, would have liked a rocker style to match existing dashboard cluster.
