What is the weight limit doe this table? Could you set a tv on it?

I guess it depends on the weight of the tv - I use this as a breakfast bar at my cabin, it has coffee pots and mugs, plates and bowls etc on it all the time with no issues. Hope that helps!

What kind of seating fits underneath?

Hello, this item is a sofa/console table and is mainly used for putting behind a sofa or entry way area. In general, however, it is recommended that seating be 9-13" below the top of the table height. -Brin

Is the brown very dark, closer to black or just regular brown?

It's between very dark and regular brown. I like the chocolate shade. That's what it is, a chocolate brown. Like milk chocolate and not dark chocolate. Hope that helps

Is the top smooth to write or draw on it?

I know this unit well and I since it has as oak grain finish, it is NOT smooth. Part of the charm of this unit is the open grain that oak grain provides but does not lend itself to drawing on its surface. Hope this helps!!
