Felix Ever After : Callender, Kacen: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: 10/10 get it and read it! - NO SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW OF BOTH THE ORDER AND THE BOOK ITSELF. By far the the best book I have ever read, it is interesting, it's a roller coaster of emotions and I mean that with the deepest sincerity. This book made me laugh, cry, smile 'till my mouth hurt. Although I'm happy I've read the book I'm sad it's over, as I've grown such a passionate connection with the characters. The choices and decisions Felix had to make, the happiness and sadness showed within him made me love the book even more. Watching Felix grow and figure out who he is, what he plans on doing with his life, reading all that made me the most inspired I've ever been. If you're thinking of buying or reading this book. DO IT. It was the best decision I made to buy it. Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! The most beautiful book I've ever read, so well written, so beautifully written, so in depth. 100/10 couldn't have been written any better. If you're struggling with your identity read it! It's so motivating, inspiring and comforting. AND the delivery - delivered on time, great packaging, not damaged in the slightest. 100% worth the money. Review: Enjoyable read, very relatable - I’m a secondary school teacher and read this book to see if my kids might like it. It’s probably better for older kids of at least 14/15 up but it’s a wonderful book once you get into it. Covers a lot of relevant issues and is quite a page turner. I think the kids will like it…

5 undoubtedly smashing stars!
I’m not quite sure how to put into words how I feel about this book. This book was written for LGBTQIA+ readers and it is so heartfelt and emotional and raw and so REAL. I understand why everyone was raving about this book when it first came out and I’m annoyed that I didn’t read it before now but I’m glad that I finally picked it up cos I would definitely recommend it to everyone! It’s about love—finding love, being in love, loving oneself and loving others. It’s about identity—understanding and accepting and finding what feels right to you in your skin. It’s about acceptance and art and family and friendship. The story is told solely from Felix’s perspective and I think Callender captured the teenage character and experience so well through him. These characters were young and imperfect. They made stupid decisions and silly mistakes and they were so realistic in their complexities and flaws even though I admit that sometimes they frustrated me! Felix really grew on me as the story progressed but I also enjoyed reading about the side characters, although I will say that the side characters came across as mostly two-dimensional compared to Felix's very well-rounded one. Maybe this makes me sound lame or whatever but I feel so privileged to follow Felix’s journey and to witness the hardships and painful rage-filled moments he experiences, but to also follow his journey to understanding and accepting himself and to finally finding and embracing the love he absolutely deserves. Oof, honestly, just thinking about what he goes through, the terrible things people can say and do to others, makes me so emotional and angry and weepy. This story made me hate people more (lol, kidding, sort of) but it was also healing and heartwarming and hopeful. It will surprise absolutely no one that this book made me cry. This story encompasses so much that I feel like it would be impossible for me to try and include everything in a review. Honestly, I know my review would pale in comparison to the beauty that is Felix’s story and Callender’s writing so the best thing you can do for yourself is to read this gem.

The poor parents!
A good idea and written well, but as I said to my other half, it has every iteration of parent going. Most of them are awful, but even the ones that are lovely and trying their best in tough situations are portrayed as evil. Its ridiculous.

i liked how it was general and gave some understanding into day-to-day life of a trans through high school years.

📖 ★★★★★ 🎧 ★★★★★ This is about a trans-kid, Felix's story of self-discovery and finding love. Many of us are lucky to have the matching of gender and biological sex. It sometimes makes us numb to the pain of other people who are still confused about their self-identity, gender and sexual orientation. They may keep questioning everyday about "who am I", "do I deserve to be loved", or even "am I real". I am so impressed and touched by Felix's story of finding out himself and his courage in fighting for respect, love and being loved... There are so many lovely characters in the book. Felix, although he's a bit unconfident, he's so brave and beautiful. And he's so real! He's definitely my favorite. Ezra, always being loyal and caring. His protection and support for Felix make my heart warm. Declan is smart and nice, and so considerate. I like him very much! Leah, a kind-hearted friend who is always willing to fight for Felix, she's very adorable too. Besides characters, the story itself is multi-layered. The suspicious transphobic bullying, the relationship between parents and children, and the mysterious love triangle, all of these are very riveting. I usually don't like love triangle plots, but I have to say the love among Felix, Ezra and Declan is very beautiful. To me, Felix and Declan are soulmates, they fall in love through a heart-to-heart connection. But Felix and Ezra are forever, they are so connected that they don't even realize the bonding. It sounds ridiculous, but it is true, sometimes, when you are overwhelmed by someone you love and get so used to their existence, you may forget or even not realize your love for them. Happiness can make you numb. "And just because you love one, doesn’t mean you can’t love another.", said Tully, Declan's granddad, and I totally agree. And the audiobook, it's awesome! The voice and performance of Logan Rozos exactly match with my imagination of Felix!
