This toy is very well made and may be perfect for some other cats
This toy is very well made and may be perfect for some other cats. Unfortunately the line that attaches the toy to the stick is fishing line. I have to be careful not to let the cat grab that line in its mouth and warn the human not to pull on the line if it is in the cat's mouth. One of the children cut the cat's mouth playing too rough with this thing, so now it has to be hidden except when an adult with sense wants to play with the cat with it. The feather thing on the end is large for a cat toy, about as long as your hand and has some weight to it. Our cat is not that interested in playing with anything that big, though she will chase it around for a few minutes if an active human is walking fast at the other end of the nicely telescoping "fishing pole". The fishing pole, as well as the rest of the toy, is very well made. We keep saying we should just replace the fishing line and the "bait" with something that would be more appropriate for our cat who is just not into feathers that big and can't be trusted to grab the bait and not the line.

What a deal
Our 2 month old kitten finds this absolutely irresistible! She played so much that she took a long nap, woke up to grab some water and then walked back to her bed to go back to sleep. It wore her out! And the best part is that it's super easy for a lazy person like myself to just wiggle around while sitting in a sofa and calling that "playing with the cat". It's actually quite fun really, I found my self entertained the whole time.I saw some reviews for people complaining about their cats breaking it... And honestly.. I can't see how the cat can do too much damage other than tearing out a feather or two after some use. I think what people are experiencing is damage caused by themselves. If the cat grabs hold and doesn't let go... Then don't pull on the pole so much that it causes it to break! It's not the cats fault or the craftsmanship of the pole... It's the human using it who stresses out the product, you can always pull with less force.Mine did come with a loose feather in the package though. Not really a big deal and the spare feather dangler thing it comes with is a great "bonus". In the end, I expect this to get a ton of damage but also a ton of use. Once the feather streamers fall apart, I'll just replace it with another.$10 and the best fun my cat has gotten out of a toy!

This one’s a winner!
The media could not be loaded. Our middle aged cat does not “play” easily. Usually she just rolls back and forth and to get her to do that can take real effort. This toy has her acting like a spring chicken again (if she ever was one). I had doubts when I saw how long and flimsy-seeming it was but now I get it. The fishing rod style has these feathers floating around like an actual bird of prey. I have no idea if it’s going to last but honestly the joy her and I have gotten from this in the past two days makes it worth it. If your cat is not easily impressed, try this toy.

Comfortable handle. Good performance. Cat meows
My cat will run and sit by this whwever she wants to play. I like how the feathers spin when it is flying and so does she. The spinning kinda gives the toy lift and stability which helps scurt it around wherever you want it to go. The pole is very light and flexible (just like a cheap fishing pole) which allows you to easily whip the toy back and forth really fast. It doesnt have bells or make any noise but compared to the plastic poles that feel much heavier, this is a lot better and still feels sturdy enough. I'll order this again on the day I accidentally leave it on a couch and sit on it.

Cats are loving this wand with feathers.
I'm writing this review based off my son's input who has been using this toy this evening to play with the cats. He said to give it a 5 star review for the following reasons. One, the wand is very flexible and does feel durable so he's not worried that it's going to break. The flexibility does give the feathers more action which drives our cats crazy. The feathers are good quality and the cats are having a lot of fun chasing them and chewing on them. One thing we like is that it's easy to attach another string using a fishing swivel if the line breaks because there is a loop at the end of the wand which allows for replacement lines. We have several other feather and mice toys which we can change out periodically to keep the toy fresh for the kitties.

Too bad, broke almost immediately
My cats absolutely love this toy. Unfortunately, within the first 2 minutes of play, one of the large feathers fell out then shortly after, the wand broke near the handle. The only pressure being applied was waving the wand around in the air, my cats hadn't even caught the lure yet. I am going to assume this cat toy was previously damaged and returned to the company then resold.

Not for aggressive players
Have four cats to entertain and the larger feathers were removed by them with in 15 minutes. Three of the cats are male and they enjoy their play, meaning they think it is a bird and the aggressive behavior comes out. Able to clue the feathers back into holder. Like the fishing line string ( they have gone thru 4 toys that had elastic strings), very durable in that since. It is their favorite toy.

Cats love it!
My cat loves feather toys .... After my other ones string breaking after a few weeks of play I found this feather want that has fishing line as the string and BONUS is collapses ..... so easy to store. Overall it is a very good product but a big kink at the top of the toy in the fishing line makes the throwing of the feather weird from time to time .... I love that it folds up for easy storage BUT getting the top bit to push in is difficult and often you think you are going to break it b/c it requires so much force! those 2 little flaws aside my cat LOVES it .... and yours will too!

Rod is great, but the cable is regular fishing line
From this product description: "...Wild feather dangler is connected via long lasting nylon wire to make play more interesting."It is not "long lasting". It is just fishing wire that is easily eaten by a cat who likes to chew. My cat ate it to bits after the first hour of it coming out of the shipping envelope. the rod is good quality, though, and I was able to attach another fishing line to it. Still, this exact same product is available at Walmart for $8 CAD.
