MR Brew Now
The Mr. Coffee Brew Now or Later Coffee Maker is a 12-cup drip coffee maker with a programmable timer and a “Brew Now” option. It also features an auto-pause function that lets you pour a cup of coffee mid-brew without interrupting the cycle, and a 4-hour automatic shutoff to prevent burnt coffee. Users rate it at 4.36 out of 5 stars on [various retail sites]. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons of Mr. Coffee Brew Now or Later Coffee Maker, 12- Cup, Black: Pros Simple and convenient to use: This coffee maker is straightforward to program and operate, making it a great choice for busy mornings or for people who aren't avid coffee drinkers. Programmable timer: Set the brew time the night before and wake up to a fresh pot of coffee. Brew strength selector: Choose between bold or regular brew strength to suit your taste. Easy to clean: Removable filter basket and carafe parts make cleaning a breeze. Affordable: This coffee maker is priced competitively within the drip coffee maker category. Pause and serve: Enjoy a cup of coffee before the entire pot has finished brewing. Cons No advanced features: This coffee maker doesn't have a built-in grinder or fancy features like some high-end models. Not ideal for small batches: If you typically only brew a cup or two of coffee at a time, this machine may be overkill. Limited color options: This coffee maker only comes in black. Cleaning and maintenance: Like most coffee makers, it requires regular cleaning and descaling to maintain optimal performance. Durability concerns: Some users report that the machine may not be as durable as some other models on the market. Overall, the Mr. Coffee Brew Now or Later Coffee Maker is a no-frills coffee maker that’s easy to use, brews a good pot of coffee, and is affordable. If you're looking for a basic coffee maker for your everyday needs, this is a great option to consider. However, if you're looking for a coffee maker with a lot of bells and whistles, or if you typically only brew small batches of coffee, you may want to look elsewhere.

Solid built on the base, shocking!
Mr. Coffee is one of the better coffeepot makers. Sure it's a bit more depending on whether you get one that does the simple process or this one that is programmable. I find this one sturdy at the base, solid build. I've always bought Mr. coffee except for the last 2 coffee pots which one was a Mueller. Which is why I'm buying this one. Usually the thermocouple goes on any pot but the Mr. Coffee seems to get a better longevity. Just like any coffee pot they are all a pain in the neck to clean in the basket area. But this one I find easier to use and I get enough time out of the product I paid for. The noise complaints? It's a coffee pot and it's going to make noise while heating the water and when the tank gets to the end of the water left in the reservoir when steam takes up the space of low hot water being pumped to the top of the pot. Whether it's too much noise or you think you'll find a variable lower noise good luck because I've never seen a coffee pot that makes less noise. Usually coffee makers are weak at the supporting base, this one is not. I like the choice of setting when to brew or a button for brew as I wait.

What to know!
This is the second coffermaker of this model that I have purchased. The first was two years ago. The carafe has been redesigned so that the dripping while pouring a cup no longer exists. Unfortunately, the cause of my replacement has not been addressed. After two years of use expect to replace this unit. The "pretty" chrome ring at the bottom of the top tank is plated on plastic. It will start to flak off and drop into the carafe during the process,. Ingesting chrome is not high on my vitamin list. All in all $23 per year for coffeemaker is not too bad in our throwway society. It does make good coffee.

Brew Now NOT later!
This was a replacement for our old reliable Mr. Coffee. Similar design and features. 12 cups, automatic timer, auto shutoff after 4 hours. But this one has a gremlin in its clock. I programmed it several times. Checked and rechecked the display. Set the auto-start for 8:00 am. How do I know? Because the clock has a little light next to the PM symbol which indicates PM when illuminated and AM when NOT. Next morning I get up and there’s no coffee! And the clock now reads PM. So I go through the process again later that night. I reset the clock to the correct time. I double-check the auto-start time…8:00AM! I go to sleep. Next morning two out of three times there’s no coffee. That’s right! It’s a Gremlin because it’s not consistently failing. So I read the owner’s manual. Follow the directions and repeat. No hot coffee when I get up. I gotta wait 10 minutes after I reset the clock to AM and press brew now. Update: I returned this item for an identical replacement. The replacement suffered from the same glitch which leads me to believe that it is an electronic design flaw in this revised version of a previously perfect coffee maker. Other dislikes about this model is the fact that the fill level window no longer has the highly visible level marks. Now you need a flashlight to see the markings. So…I bought a very similar product from Black and Decker after returning this a second time.

incomplete instructions - brew later
Used a Mr Coffee for decades, but it was white and looks bad. Still works fine, though. Bought this black one. Couldn't get the Brew Later to work. No manual comes with it - just one piece of paper. It has a QR code which takes you to a page with 96 (seriously) 12 cup makers listed. Not even alphabetically. And this one is not there. Customer support answered after 34 minutes of treacly music. Super nice girl. She couldn't figure it out either. She did email me the correct manual (PC12_19ESM1 (Target).pdf) I finally did figure it out. Here's what I found: Unplugging for 5 minutes MAY reset everything. Unplugging momentarily resets the clock to 12:00. First, you have to set the clock for anything to work (even just to brew, if it's like my white one). Pay attention to the PM "dot". There's no 24 hour option (that I know of, though there should be, of course). Press the Brew Later button. It's light flashes. Set the brew time. Note the PM "dot". Press Brew Later AGAIN - WHILE THE LIGHT IS STILL FLASHING. The light now STAYS LIT and the Brew Later will work. Hope this helps. It's a decent machine and looks good. The company needs to get their act together with the manuals and tech support. Of course tech support wouldn't be needed if there was really a manual...
