Ling Ling Bird Hears with his Magic Ears: exploring fun 'learning to listen' sounds for early listeners (Ling Ling Bird Early Learners)

My daughter is 2 and has bilateral cochlear implants. I bought this book because the author is in a group I am in and I needed a quick last Christmas present. When she saw this book for the first time, she pointed at the cochlear implants and looked at me and signed and said "hearing aid" with the biggest smile. It includes LING words and very clear cochlear devices that she can see and relate with. She loves saying the animal noises and BEEP BEEP for the car, etc. This book has opened the door for my daughter to see that there are other people (and birds apparently) that are like her. :-) I recommend it for sure! Especially for toddlers.

Tanya Saunders is a great author and she also has a huge heart for kids who are hard of hearing. I have the pleasure of talking with her and she is an amazing woman. My son is hard of hearing and he loves this book. It has beautiful colors, images and it focus on the 6 sounds little ones need to learn to be able to speak. I recommend this book not only for families with children that are hard of hearing but for any family. It would be a great gift for little ones.

My deaf 1-year old with cochlear implants lives this book. He especially loves the page at the end where the bird takes his processor off to go to sleep at night. Sometimes the book is too long because of his age but that’s fine. It’s a great buy for any kid with hearing loss.

This book is great for my cochlear implant toddler. He loves pointing to the birds magic ears and then his! The content of the book is educational as well! We love it!

Great book! Beautiful pictures, great text, and a great way to share a book while working on “learning to listen” sounds! A must have!!!

i am a speech language pathologist, this book is fantastic way to perform the ling 6 sound check with my students , its such a fun and creative way to do the behavioural check of these sounds :)

My daughter has Cochlear Implants and she loves this book. The rhyming words are amazing, the sounds are nice. Plus she relates with Ling Ling Bird who also has Cochlear. And she loves it.

What an amazing book for all kids and especially for babies who are hard of hearing/deaf and use hearing aids or cochlear implants. It has so many sounds and they way they have been incorporated is amazing. My babe is going to get activated next month and I plan to read it to her everyday :)
