I can't give this product a five-star review at this point because I haven't been outside in an area infested with mosquitoes -- that would be the true test. However, I'm impressed with how well it works. I had not been bothered by mosquito bites in many years, but I read that there is a new type of mosquito in my area. A few weeks after reading that, I started getting bites. There weren't very many of them, but they itched like crazy, even keeping me awake at night. No sooner than one would heal, I'd get another one. Yesterday I received my Medella Naturals mosquito repellent. After showering, I applied it to most of my body, especially arms, legs, and feet. I haven't gotten any more bites. The texture of the product is an oily liquid. After spraying, you'll need to spread it around on your skin with your hands, and wash your hands afterwards. The active ingredient is 0.5% lemongrass oil; the rest is water, vanilla, and other natural ingredients. The smell is a bit much if you're not used to wearing fragrances, but it dissipates, and I could detect it even the next day, which means the mosquitoes could still detect it. I had read reviews of many other herbal mosquito repellents that said they worked, but the smell was so strong, no one could stand to be near you. Medella Naturals works well and the scent is pleasant. This is also a good buy since it's an 8-oz bottle, a 4-oz bottle, and a 2-oz bottle for a good price. The big bottle is good for using at home and the smaller ones could be used for travel.

This has more of a citrusy smell!My husband, my kids and I have been spraying our selves with this before we go outside and I have gotten a few Mosquito bites, but nothing like I normally get! My husband said he hasn't gotten any bites, but he hardly ever gets bites. The bugs hate him lol! I haven't noticed any on my kids either! I would say over all, this stuff works great!In this pack, you get 3 bottles for around $20 bucks which is definitely comparable to other sprays in the stores, the only difference, this smells amazing! Everyone is different so just putting a heads up that it may or may not work for you. I tried it at a friend’s backyard and it worked perfectly on me. It doesn’t reek of that nauseating Deet smell; it’s actually quite pleasant and I didn’t get a single mosquito bite.My poor husband tried it twice and got two bites both times he used this product. Poor guy.So he uses that stinky stuff and I use this pleasant natural repellent. I really like this stuff.

The smell is strong for a while but it goes away. It does work. The smell is not bad. I am a foody so to me it smells like vanilla cupcakes. I also got another brand and it smells like I had herbs around me. This one at least blended in well after a while. The other made me feel like an herbal shop. They both worked but I liked the mild smell better.

I LOVE this bug spray. Last year I went on the hunt for a bug spray I wouldn’t mind wearing every day during the summer (because mosquitos love me). I tried several different ones and this was the clear winner. I’ve repurchased many times now. It smells good, absorbs, and is natural so I don’t hesitate using it on my kids. Best of all it WORKS!

This product has a strong fragrance. It does work. However, I’m disappointed in the packaging. When I opened the packing envelope, I smelled a strong fragrance. I had looked at the packing envelope and saw that there was a slightly greasy spot on it. When I looked inside and pulled the product out, I immediately saw that there was oil that had come out in the protective seal area. Two of the bottles were dented a bit in a few places. I’m not going to bother returning this product as I need it during the Dengue Fever outbreak in my area.

I've had a good experience with this product (and I am a mosquito magnet). I love that it doesn't have harsh chemicals, and have found that it works well. Need to reapply more often than a product with DEET, but that is not really a big deal in my opinion.
