Good value, good blend. But contraindication warning. And horrible packaing.
First, the packaging waste here is horrible. And to make matters worse, it has an "eco friendly" logo on it.These bottles arrive 80% empty, and in a cardboard box. We're facing a global plastics pollution crisis, where they're finding microplastic pollution in just about every square inch of the planet - in the air above Everest, at the bottom of the ocean, even at the north pole. Further, most US cities are facing a plastics recycling crisis, where they don't know what to do with the plastic. Brands need to be smarter about their packaging, use right-sized bottles or fill them to the brim (adjust the price accordingly). This should save costs on both ends.Second, the prebiotic has licorice root, which is a good natural ingredient, but can also contraindicate many medications, raise blood pressure, and other side effects. They would be better off leaving it out. There may be other potential allergens and/or contraindicated ingredients here, so make sure to read it carefully.Other than that this is a very thoughtful blend of prebiotic and probiotic ingredients. 50 billion CFU is a good dose, and there's a good variety in there. If the issues I mentioned bother you, then a good alternative is: Proriginal Probiotics 100 Billion CFU (50 billion per pill).

They work
I’m never all that good at reviewing supplements but I give it as good a shot as I can. I know I like to take a select few for the benefits they offer and try to go from there. Probiotics are definitely some that I have grown fond of over the years and some that I have tried to take regularly. So, when I saw this 2 in 1 probiotic and prebiotics set my curiosity was piqued. What you do here is take one probiotic at the same time as you take one prebiotic daily. They are supposed to work in a way that the prebiotics nourish the probiotics and amplify the effectiveness.Since probiotics are live cultures, it’s important to know that these Dr. Synbio are made to have a stable shelf life. They are also a delayed release capsule so they bypass the stomach to make it to where they will easily be absorbed. The capsules are about medium size and aren’t hard to swallow unless you are the type to have trouble swallowing capsules, then I imagine you may have difficulties I suppose. These seem to really work nicely as a probiotic. As I mentioned, I have a hard time actually reviewing supplements but mostly because a lot of times it’s really hard to tell if something is working. With these, I can tell you that I have had no adverse reaction and I feel like they are doing exactly what a probiotic should be doing. This particular variation is made for Women's Daily Care but they come in a few different variations and are available for men, teens, and more. I think you could take one variety for a month then use a different one if you wanted for a month (ex. Immune support one month then digestive health one month, etc.) and it wouldn’t hurt.

No Negative Side Effects
The media could not be loaded. About a year ago, I decided it was a good time to begin taking some supplements to assist in the aging process. Prebiotics and probiotics are an important component of my new daily regimen. I have not noticed any negative side effects at all since I switched to Avira. I also haven't noticed any positive improvement, but I didn't notice any changes when I was using any other brands either. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll ever actually feel the effects of the supplement. That's one of the sad realities of taking vitamins, minerals, and other supplements. We don't often feel the benefits of them, so we don't know if they are working. We have to just put blind faith in them. It's worth noting that the packaging on these pills can be a bit frustrating. You need to be very careful when you separate the two bottles. It is very difficult to disconnect the plastic packaging unless you "snap" it, but if you aren't careful when snapping it, one or both pieces of plastic will fly across the room!

Too Many Herbs in Prebiotic. I Think They Reacted Poorly w/Statin Rx.
The probiotic seems fine, but I'm not happy w/the prebiotic and it's "herbs."I take a statin and I'm pretty sure the green herbal pill is what has started to cause my issues. I started having heart palpitations and my blood pressure went up. I'm trying to figure out why, so I think it's the Rx statin that I take at first, but then I'm pretty sure it's the "herbs" that they use in the prebiotic pill reacting with the statin. There needs to be a warning about the herbs being used w/ other meds. The prebiotic contains licorice root, which apparently can have adverse reactions w/other medications and increase blood pressure. I wish I had known this prior. My advise, this 2 pack isn't worth it. It comes packaged horribly. The bottles are WAY bigger than they need to be. They're less than ½ filled. Plus there is this piece of hard plastic that holds the 2 bottles together. It's quite difficult to remove. The prebiotic pills have too many different "herbs" that don't seem to go well w/other medicines.

Do NOT take if you're allergic to any type of legumes, like peanuts!!
If you are allergic to any type of legumes, like peanuts, beans or peas, do NOT take this product!! The Prebiotic & Herb blend contains licorice root, which can trigger an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, I must've missed that on the label and I had an allergic reaction. Luckily, it was mild and I only got an itchy feeling in my mouth and a rash on my face, but no issues with my breathing. I took an antihistamine and was better within a few hours. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because the probiotic that comes with it is pretty good with 50 billion CFU's and 15 probiotic strains. My son used the probiotic and said it worked like his regular ones.
