I prefer this more than the P i l o t D r. G r i p or other pens with thick grips. Why? - My fingers can hold the fat hexagon cushion for a while without getting tired; - the soft grip means my fingers don't slide off after a while; - no ink blotches or smears (at least so far); - the hexagon grip lets you remove the lanyard and the pen does not roll off your notebook or table; - it is not weighted (weighted pens help some fingers but not me; those hurt/tire out my fingers).This pen took some getting used to, forcing me to slow down during the learning curve, but other people can read my handwriting again! Maybe one day I'll once again get compliments on my handwriting. Thank you, Thixotropic!

Ink is "gloppy". Globs up at the tip. I see no advantages to a standard sized pen. I have weak hands due to peripheral neuropathy and cervical spinal stenosis.

I would have loved for this pen to have worked better for me. I haven’t been able to really grip a pen/write for awhile, so I thought I’d give one of these arthritis type pens a shot. I think it’d have worked better for me if it wasn’t a hexagonal grip. It’s extremely uncomfortable to hold and write with. You can’t really seem to find a good spot to hold it because it’s just all so awkward. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this pen and will be trying to return them to buy a regular style fat pen.

In my search for gel pen that is comfortable in my hand I will continue to look. I did a search and this pen came up as a gel pen and in the description it doesn't say if it's gel or ballpoint. It is not a gel pen. It is a ballpoint. Please correct the search criteria that you have put in so that someone else doesn't make the same mistake as I did. I have been using other fat pens for the last year due to a hand injury and this one just feels uncomfortable with the sides. I wish that it was gel and that the padding was rounded. Returning it.

I find the older I get it’s very helpful that the pens I use are thicker with grips. These pens are amazing easy to Holden’s use and my writings actually improved because of the grip!Thank you! I’ll definitely order again!
