Pax, The journey home
Well worth a read, especially if you have already read Pax. The story continues where it left off. The imagery and the way the author has written how the animals communicate is very well done. Although this is aimed at children I enjoyed it very much.

Lovely book
A lovely, good quality book with amazing illustration on front cover. It's not been read yet but if it's as good as the first book Pax, then it will be a good read.

Bought for my son (11) for Christmas, he read it straight away and now can't stop talking about it. Awesome little series. We love Pax.

Navigating the Depths of Environmental Reflection
Sara Pennypacker's Pax: Journey Home continues the compelling narrative established in the first installment, echoing the profound themes of the power of kindness and love in rebuilding a shattered world. Much like Sara's story, it subtly encourages readers to derive life's philosophies from the narrative. The novel's well-paced structure unfolds with a captivating rhythm, particularly poignant in depicting the impact of war-induced toxic contamination on the environment. The heartbreaking account of Pax's daughter, the young fox, suffering from the effects of poisoned water resonates deeply, invoking a sense of unease and sorrow. While fictional, it draws unsettling parallels to our real-world struggle with plastic pollution, mirrored in the tragic plight of seabirds affected by plasticosis. (A new disease caused solely by plastics has been discovered in seabirds. The birds identified as having the disease, named plasticosis, have scarred digestive tracts from ingesting waste. Plastic pollution is becoming so prevalent that the scarring was widespread across different ages of birds. The more plastic a bird had ingested, the more scarring it had. The disease can lead to the gradual breakdown of tubular glands in the proventriculus. Losing these glands can cause the birds to become more vulnerable to infection and parasites and affect their ability to digest food and absorb some vitamins.)Pennypacker’s storytelling not only tugs at the heartstrings but also serves as a call to action, compelling readers to reflect on their own roles in safeguarding the natural world.

Phenomenal read
This is the second book in the series and also one of the reasons that foxes are now one of my favourite animals. I love Peter and Pax's story and how emotionally engaging these books are. Touching on grief, feeling alone, self-healing, love, hope, and more... this is an absolutely breathtaking read which I had to read in an evening. The setting is so beautifully vivid, wild, and real, with the characters having to adapt to some constantly evolving scenarios and emotions. The added bonus of the kits were adorable, and I will one hundred percent re-read these and recommend them to everyone, such charming, thought-provoking reads. I really hope there will be a third as I have fallen completely in love with these stories.
